If I go in for a big pbaoe or cone and they are knocked back before I can start, I'm just gonna move to the next mob and whoever knocked the mobs can deal with them. You can mitigate the knockback with kb to kd IOs and especially on a defender you have a bit more slots than most to play with while keeping softcapped defenses, so it shouldn't be to bad.
