Rate of influence in an AE map depends on a lot of variables such as:

1). Mobs in the map, do they have enough powers to full rewards?

2). Are helpful NPCs used l, that can reduce the amount received.

3). Number of people on the map also reduces the amount that an individual character receives.

4). Is the map set to auto exemplar the team, so they can make use of the "double influence when exemplared" option (which isn't really double but it's definitely more).

5). Was a different map used previously, as rates on different maps can fluctuate based on the about.

6). Was the map used updated recently that could of effected the influence rate?

As of last night AE influence and XP had not been touched. You can try a different map if you'd like, ones I like to use are: 18370 if I want to get off the meteor, or 2915 for the meteor. The first has a ton of elite bosses on a fairly underused outdoor map. The second is the tried and true Briggs.

Proper answer from the patch notes:

The following change was omitted from the beta patch notes due to a related exploit:

  • Influence gain can no longer be increased by disabling XP

We’ve made this change to reduce the influence income gap between players who farm and those that do not. The amount of additional influence gained by abusing level 49 missions simply wasn’t healthy for the overall economy of the game, and generally unfair towards those who play standard level 50 content instead of farming.

Additionally, there were various exploits that could be abused in order to further increase influence gain through this option.

Overall, we concluded it was best to remove the mechanic. Even with this change farming is still far more efficient than every other method of influence gain.

Yes, if you read the most recent patch notes carefully, you'll see that the devs fixed an exploit with exemplar missions in AE and patrol XP that reduces the amount of Inf generated.  They did this to address problems with inflation that affects all players, even those who don't AE farm.  There's been wailing and gnashing of teeth for a week about it.  There's a 40-page thread going on and on about it, as well.

Yes, you now make less Inf on those AE farms.  But in the long run, the value of your reduced Inf increases, because less Inf in circulation makes it worth more.  It will take a few weeks for the economy to stabilize accordingly.
