Sengara Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) Hello everyone! Got my first level 50, and having a ton of fun, but also feeling like everyone else is carrying me. I see brutes taking alpha strikes and murdering everything. Blasters and everything else seem to melt packs before my zombies wipe the brains off their face from the last fight. Solo, my -hit can stop everything, but they have to hit it first. When mobs jump me, or I'm doing group content, my pets just melt and I spend 2-5 seconds re-summoning, and by that time the DPS has already killed everything that isn't an AV. So, what am I doing wrong? Posts say my pets should be pretty tanky, and my dmg should be pretty strong from my T2 pets. their dmg is OK, but my dmg output seems so slow. I usually set my pets to attack/defensive and keep them live on targets, switching right before something dies. I cycle cast Gloom, heal, and my holds. I open fights with Fear and set an anchor and dark patch. Why are my pets tissue paper and my damage sucks? I can solo +2/+8 or like +3/+5, but after that I will fear and anchor just to see most of my pets die just in time for my dark patch to land. EyeLuvBooks Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Truth be told, I hate taking my MMs into Incarnate content for most of the reasons you cited. Even before that, if I was in a team with post-50s they were melting the mobs as I was ordering my boys into battle. I have resigned myself to keeping my Lich and Knights, forgetting about the Zombies and fighting as a form of Dark Defender, helping the team and allowing my minions to follow me on Defensive so I'm playing the role of Tank for them, sharing the damage. Some MM Secondaries are probably more useful (like anything with shields in it) but /Dark is rough on Incarnates IMHO. Good luck.
plainguy Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 Re-post the build with link or data chunk to review please. Your hit debuffs equal defenses. I didn't know and just discovered that even when the Anchor dies the debuffs is still there until the body disappears. I used to think once the mob does your debuff goes.. That is good because you now have some time to find a new Anchor if needed. Dark is rough because the set does not easily afford itself to defense caps. You could go range defense cap and then get Melee and AOE mid point and use Darkest Night to get you the rest of the defense cap needed. Again I am not crazy about getting defenses via Anchor but knowing that it still there until the body disappears is a bit of a bonus to getting a new Anchor. Dixa Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 you are not doing anything wrong. mm's are not a very team friendly at, and are not as straightforward as brutes/scrappers/stalkers. they are one of most handicapped vs. +4's even in incarnate content, and the most handicapped at in the game vs. autohit aoe's. that doesn't make them any less fun though.

Fearsome Stare should be your main to-hit debuff. It is recommended that it slotted with a to-hit debuff set (provides -17% to-hit) and not a fear set (little to almost no benefit to extending the fear duration). Darkest Night (which provides another -17%) is a bonus when you are going to have something live long enough to make it worth casting it. I also slot Dark Servant with to-hit debuff set since it applies to all its attacks. Here is my Thugs/Dark build for comparison. My defense ranges from 29% to 33% and soft-capped S/L/E resists which has worked out fine for me and my pets (even the T1s) in +4 and incarnate content. The pets will take damage since not everything will get debuffed, some attacks are auto hit and sometimes that 5% chance gets through and that's why you have Twilight Grasp. Sometimes the pets will die which is expected. Hero Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.7https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build!
