DarkWings Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 I never played an MM before and I am pretty attracted to necro/dark as my favourite anime villian is Ainz Ooal Gown from the Overlord so I took some ideas from Necro/Dark forum posts and what enhancements and incarnates I thought were worth getting. How would you guys improve it? I want to focus on survivability and damage. Also is this build viable for soloing? There isn't much players as villians and I feel like getting a team would be much harder. Force Redux Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 (edited) I need to load this into Mids tomorrow, but I'll give it a looking over for you 🙂 EDIT: looks like some of our forum helpers have already gotten to this. Thanks folks! Edited May 14, 2020 by Force Redux 1 @Force Redux on Everlasting ----- (read my guide) ----- Gather the Shadows: A Dark Miasma Primer for Masterminds
BGSacho Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 You need to take Enchant Undead/Dark Empowerment, without them the pets won't have most of their skills.
Seigmoraig Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 Possibly the worst build ever posted. If you don't take your pet buffs you will not be able to do much of anything as a mastermind. Enchant Undead and Dark Empowerment are the most important skills in your set right behind your pets themselves
Seigmoraig Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 (edited) Didn't want to sound like a dick just saying your build sucks and leaving it at that, here is a build I threw together that will be MUCH more playable. 45% S/L def, 38% E Def, and 24.7 for the rest The build is certainly up for interpretation though. I didn't choose Hasten because I don't really care for it on Masterminds, you could certainly take it if you fancy having it, Tactics could be dropped for this along with the frankenslot Cloud Sences IO in Fearsome Stare to get it to 2 slots for 2x Recharge IOs to get it's recharge down. Could also drop one of the Knockback resist slots, Karma in Shadowfall or Steadfast Protection in Tough, pretty sure 8 is sufficient in most cases, I have 12 mag slotted here to be safe I wasn't really sure how to slot the Dark Servant pet that could be changed up too to possibly be better, I put in Panacea to get some +recharge but that is a very expensive set and something different could be done there pretty easily to lower the cost. Petrifying Gaze could also be dropped for something else since it is your only hold you won't be able to stack it to hold big targets. It will be dealing some damage though with all the procs in it so that's something I didn't do anything for the Incarnates, I'll leave that up to you to figure out since they are pretty subjective. Only thing I would recommend there is Musculature in the Alpha will help your pets deal more damage Villain Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.7https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! Riverdusk Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 (edited) Original build also has stealth, invisibility, and shadowfall. Pretty sure you can't run those at the same time. Even if you can shadowfall plus a +stealth IO is all the stealth you'd need. A /dark really doesn't need concealment pool at all. I could MAYBE see getting grant invis if you really want your pets to be fully invisible (if they keep close to you) for some reason, but that'd be a stretch (and a pain to have to cast it on all 7 of them constantly). I also removed Miracle +Recovery from the Health leaving the other two. I can afford Panacea as I already make like 30-50 mil a day from the consignment. Also I have been using other peoples builds since playing this is my actual first build I did myself I expected it to suck but that's why I'm here. Quick note about this, out of the 3 common procs in Health, Miracle gives the most +end back (+15%) followed by Numina (10%)and Panacea (7.5%)gives the least. I would also advise you give Hover a try, it is a fantastic combat ability that gives +def, takes a Luck of the Gambler global recharge IO an lets you avoid all manner of ground based attacks and costs almost 0 end to have toggled. I added a flight power because I saw you had one so you must like it. Personally I almost never get a travel power on any of my characters, Spring + Ninja Run + Jetpacks + enterbasefrompasscode are sufficient for me. I rather take another actual power than a fly/SJ/SS. Modifying existing builds to suit your tastes is a great way to get to know what works and what doesnt, what people take and what sets they use. Highly recommend you keep doing that sort of thing. Also keep looking for feedback ! Edited May 15, 2020 by Seigmoraig 1
