Triuman
I have never played a sentinel or the ninjitsu set and was wondering if anyone has a build I could take a look at? Trying to figure out a decent def/resist build with mystic flight. Looked around and found only one build at lvl 50 that was not workable. Mercurias
Here's mine, which may be the unusable lv 50 one you were talking about: There's a lot of wiggle room in this combo to make it yours, but what I focused on was building a character that was versatile, with control elements and durability to help offset its lower damage output compared to a Blaster. The key things I did which I personally like are: -The build has two heals, a recovery power, and softcapped positional defenses. -Mystic Flight -I slotted Umbral Torrent to do KD rather than KB, and also give a chance to crank recharge. -Blackstar up every 25 Seconds. -Soul Mastery gives a Cone Immob as on top of Darkest Night, which work extremely well together by locking enemies in place in the radius of Darkest Night where they have a damage and respectable (though I wish I could have made it more subtantial) -ToHit Debuff. -Antiumbral Beam, Gloom, and Abyssal Gaze give a continuous 1-2-3 Single Target Chain. -Umbral Torrent, Dark Obliteration, and Soul Tentacles make a continuous (though at closer range than I'd like) 1-2-3 AoE chain. If you want to pump the damage, the first thing I would do is trade out Gloom for Dark Blast. Dark Blast's power is *incredibly* low, but it triggers Offensive Opportunity, which should be helpful. I went for Gloom because I prefer the attack, but I'm considering chancing it for the sake of the mechanic. I'm sure others could either improve on this build or make something better, but I hope it gives you a starting point or something to consider! Triuman
Thanks for a place to start. The one I was referring to was not this it had flight 6 slotted , 5 in health some were 7 slotted and had pretty much 0 def. Just had no clue on where to go with Ninjitsu. Ninjutsu is a pretty friendly set to slot. It goes off of positional (Melee, Ranged, AoE) defenses, so you can focus on the buffs which get them to softcap and then leave room for other sets. Once you hit softcap, I would focus on Recharge and Recovery until you hit close to Perma-Hasten. That'll help get your heals back online faster as well as help you recover endurance more swiftly with Seishinteki Kyoyo once it comes off of cooldown. After that, I'd bump resistance and damage. Musculature works really well as the Alpha for Sentinels because it helps bump their naturally low damage. I would go for either Degenerative or Diamagnetic for the Interface. Diamagnetic can help you double-down on the ToHit and ass -Regen to help you handle bigger baddies, while Degenerative gives -HP debuff procs and added Toxic damage. YMMV, but those are the two I'd recommend. For Destiny, I would grab Rebirth for added healing. Again, YMMV. For Judgment, I went with Void Radial, but either Void works. It's basically a second cast of Blackstar. What's not to like? For Lore, I went with the Banished Pantheon, but you can honestly grab anything there. They should all be fine. For Hybrid I chose Assault, but you could probably go for Melee if you believed you were going to spend a lot of time here. oldskool
Some things to caution/consider: 1) Dark Blast vs Gloom isn't necessarily a big positive. The value here is going to depend a lot on global recharge because in general Gloom > Dark Blast. Offensive Opportunity by itself isn't worth that much of a DPS increase. It often ranges in the low single digits (+3 to 6 overall DPS). 2) Life Drain as a heal is hot garbage, and frankly isn't worth the pick most of the time. Gloom's base damage-per-activation is higher than Life Drain. With enough recharge you can chain cast Gloom, Abyssal Gaze, and Antumbral Beam. So Life Drain is optional. It can be a fun power though, and it can also benefit from various damage/utility procs from various sets. 3) You do want defense (melee, range, aoe) at, or very close to, 45%. Dark Blast as a set includes a good bit of -to hit which can help pad things out for you. Still, the more +defense you can build the better off you are. 4) You started off asking for something fairly specific (X and Y sets plus Mystic Flight). Unfortunately, not that many people post builds in this subforum. My recommendation is to do two separate searches. One search for nin and one search for dark. You should be able to cobble together a build by looking at how others have constructed their characters. That should work even if they aren't doing specific things like taking Mystic Flight (which as a power doesn't require anything for slots). Dark Blast and Nin have some synergy with the debuff plus defense. That said, there isn't so strong a synergy here that a specific path exists. You can build Nin to soft-cap or get really close. You can do that with *any* primary. You can get a consistent set of damage out of Dark and that isn't unique to using Nin, at all. Underfyre
I am disinclined to agree that Gloom > Dark Blast. Even before Offensive Opportunity is in play. But I'm just going off what my spreadsheet says. Maybe it's wrong, maybe it isn't. Meknomancer
I have a dark/nin i was considering respeccing but i find it difficult to fit epics in on them as it means giving up a lot of power pools or primary attacks. I couldn't play it without hasten/ss/cj as i love the mobility. If you have to have mystic flight in it purely for travel or were you planning on using it as a hoverblaster? It eats end up so i feel like you'd have to take hover and switch between them when fighting. I tried making a build with epics but it meant dropping leadership and speed so your to hit and recharge aren't great but if that doesn't bother you.....: Hero Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer Bel
I've been theory crafting a bunch of sentinels recently, including dark/ninj. I've found the best #s by going proc heavy and using psi epic for extra attacks w/ practical lower cds and mind link to make hitting softcap def easier. Abyssal gaze, life drain and dark oblit are all able to take on multiple dmg procs and it really boosts the overall dmg output siginificantly. I take dark blast over gloom (though gloom has the better DPA) to get the extra dmg from opportunity. Intuition radial paragon alpha is a nice choice for the dmg/hold/-tohit. Build is a few seconds shy of perma hasten but w/ any team buffs it should be easily attainable. Barrier for destiny would probably be best for the added dmg resis and extra def to counter debuffs, as heals and +end shouldn't be a problem at all. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1458&c=680&a=1360&f=HEX&dc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
