Meknomancer Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Haven't tried fire/storm but i have rerolled water/storm i had on live.....end heavy doesn't even begin to cover it and i run mine with cardiac+ageless+powersink. I don't number crunch but from experience fire is just as heavy on the blue bar and after a freezing rain/tornado/rain of fire/lightning storm/fireball you struggle with any sort of attack chain. So you jump in the mob with dark consumption. 10 seconds later blue bar gone again. You hit ageless and your ok for a bit but its still that blue bar vanishing sooo fast. I'm gonna assume from the build its end game content only with a tier 4 ageless and if you were copying other builds most of those ran agility which barely helps end but is in there for the recharge and defence softcap which you won't be hitting now that you switched in sorcery. You will have fun i'd just keep a stack of green and blue insps in your trays cos without the defence you will get hit and no matter what you throw out you will need blues to keep end topped up.

Doomguide2005 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) There's a relatively cheap Base Empowerment Buff that can also be used that will substantially boost recovery (+100%) as well as a P2W Amplifier that boosts recovery (Survival, I believe). Both could help cover the gaps or periods of higher demand and lessen the need for chugging blues. Geas of the Kind Ones accolade can also help. Looking more specifically at your build while I can't see it in Mids (no computer) I'm concerned Freezing Rain lacks sufficient endred. It's very easy with higher recharge builds in particular to burn a lot of endurance with this power. Base cost is 18.2 endurance and at least on some of my Stormies I can get the recharge under 20 secs ... that's roughly 1.0 eps added to your drain prior to endred if you tend to spam it (which I know I like to). I'm also not even close to sufficiently knowledgeable about procs but not sure how much value you're getting out of the Achilles. Might want to look into that around the forums. It definitely struggles until end-game with endurance, but once you do have t4 ageless and all the shiny enhancements slotted, it isn't really an issue anymore, at least i almost never notice it. You can run yourself out because of the amount of recharge, but that's fine, you just control what you are doing - and when you are on a team, there's frequently almost always others with ageless or elec or some other steroid that helps your recovery and then you can just go crazy. It's a pretty satisfying build to play. I am still not 100% certain about sorcery, but rune is pretty nice and you can have it around 2/3rds uptime

Your build is similar to the one I based mine off of, but as mentioned flight was required for theme reasons, so I went with sorcery based on some other threads I had found. It works pretty well as far as I can tell. I don't have a good frame of reference though as I am still pretty new and don't have the clearest sense what is going on all the time, so to me just getting him all kitted out made me think "wow, this works!" because I was suddenly not insta-dead all the time. Could your build be adapted to include flight in some form (don't care if it's sorcery or flight pool)? I also did notice after I was well into leveling, that the general consensus is that storm is better on defenders. I didn't even realize at that point that defenders and corruptors have the same power sets just reversed. I'd be interested in trying out some storm defender builds I think, so far it is by far my favorite powerset just from a feel perspective and if defenders do it best, I want to try that 😄 What makes defenders the better choice for Storm? What makes Storm/Water the best combo? Also, if you have some defender builds with storm, I would love to check those out. Also @Doomguide2005 I havent found FR to cause me endurance issues, but I did read in another post that if you add 1 slot, it makes a nice place to put both -res procs which sounded pretty cool to me.
