I imagine two possibilities:  

 

1) She was a "true believer" who continued to do her duty, spinning the glories of Emperor Cole and reporting on the final conflict right up until the moment he triggered the nuke, and died in the blast, or...

 

2) She was a master spindoctor of government propaganda who, realized what was up, escaped to Primal earth, and fled to the Rogue Isles, becoming Lord Recluse's new chief of Public Relations. 

 

I favor explanation 2, personally.  It was probably her idea to hire Westin Phipps.  😂
