I have the @Infinitum inv/ss build and it is fantastic. Thank you so much! I am essentially unkillable unless the mechanics of a fight necessitate your death. However in most teams, and in solo content, I don't do enough dmg. Including boxing, I have four single target and one aoe. The damage they do is fine. And they recharge so fast I can barely get boxing off anyways. But just having foot stomp for aoe is a real bummer almost all the time. I'm trying to work in Electrifying Fences and Ball lightning, or melt armor and fire ball, and spring attack, but it's all crushing the survivability. Just not enough slots.

 

I am open to ANY changes. No themes are loves here that need to be considered. I'll happily live without a travel power if it helps. THis is what i've got so far.

I made a few changes here.  Dropping the 6th slot on blistering cold loses us 5% def to F/C which I don't think you need.  The current value isn't high enough for iCap, or to stay capped during rage crash.  Without it you're still above standard softcap normally, and iCap when fully saturated.  This lets us pick up the tanker resist proc ATO which is a much higher value imo.  I also swapped the set to KB because i believe it will proc better here, and you're more likely to throw KB into your AOE rotation.

 

I also don't think you were getting much out of spring attack so I dropped it and went the cross punch route.  I think you'll get a lot more use out of it.  Dropping a UG io from tough lets us hit 6 piece 'geddon here which is just better.  Also, feel free to turn off tough, it's not doing anything for you now with an ATO proc going.  Cross punch leads to more face punching, so it's a flavor win too.

 

Also unslotted fences, I don't find it very useful at all, damage is super low and you only had 3 slots in it anyway.

 

Between stomp, cross, and ball lightning, your AOE  rotation should be pretty good.  Especially if you throw KB in on cooldown for the ATO proc.

 

I left super jump and dropped assault because that's how I'd play it.  You can swap back if you prefer the slight damage buff.

 

Anyway, there are more experienced builders than me here so take this with a grain of salt.  I'd always recommend trying it on test (especially the cross punch) before you commit.

 

EDIT:  I'd switch the sets back how you had them between HM and KB and just plug the ATO into HM instead.  The ATO has better uptime in HM during single target.

I had a similar dilemma on my Bio/SS tanker. FS is awesome no doubt, but left me wanting at least one more handy aoe in my chain quite often.

 

The epic aoes are definitely excellent, but may come at some lost defensive slotting opportunities or power picks in a tight build. To be honest, just grabbing electric fences and giving it decent damage/proc slotting is not a bad choice. It recharges quickly, activates quickly, and actually does appreciable damage.

 

I ended up swapping around some of my other powers and picking up cross punch (fully buffed by box/kick) instead. This gives me an ideal place for the fury -resist proc, strengthens my ST attack chain, and gives me a little something to play around with for an extra aoe cone.

 

It doesn't have the impact of footstomp, or the raw aoe power of fireball/ball lightning, but it closes the gap and serves a purpose in a variety of situations. Further bonus that it actually buffs recharge and tohit for everything else as well!

 

The clincher for me was that it kept in-theme for my SS attacks. My particular vision for this character did not involve spewing elemental blasts.

I like Energy Mastery.  Conserve Power is a one slot wonder.  Don't need it most of the time but it does help when you have rage and hasten crashes and while it doesn't protect against -endurance or -recovery it does reduce the endurance cost of all your powers.  But that's just to open up Laser Beam Eyes and Energy Torrent.  Both have a -res slotted to help you and the rest of the team do more damage; helps you with runners, and gives you another knockdown for mitigation and AoE damage.
