I'm not sure if this is a bug in the power or the combat attributes monitor. When toggling on EM it shows the defence value in the CAM under each individual defence type as expected, but they aren't being added to the totals for each type straight away. It takes up to 10 seconds for correct new total values to show.

I'm just not sure if it is a case of the CAM isn't updating properly or, more worryingly, the defence isn't actually being applied straight away.

I was doing it in Pocket D, so it wasn't a case of the defence being suppressed for combat.

If however it is working as intended, and there should be a delay before the defence kicks in, the power description or detailed info should really be updated to reflect it.

The current suppression mechanics in EvMa are very aggressive. Any power activation and any buff to allies (including ones that feel passive, like running Leadership powers) will suppress the defense for 10s. What you're describing with the attribute monitor is the way suppressed things behave - the show up in the breakdown, but are not added to the sum.

Some folks have speculated that these powers are actually suppressing themselves. I'm not sure that's actually possible, and it's not something I noticed in my own testing. But if you toggled anything else, even Sprint, that will suppress it.

I was running leadership toggles which were active before turning on EM.  I tested the early implementation of EM on beta, but not the latter version, so this was new to me and didn't feel like it was how it's meant to be, but if that really is it working as intended it's a bit bonkers...

Sounds to me like this was not implemented properly.

Leadership toggles actually buffing someone suppressing it is one thing, but it should NOT be suppressing when activating powers that Only Affect Self.

I won't argue that the implementation leaves something to be desired, but apparently it was fully intentional.

My understanding is that more ... targeted? events will be coming in a future patch that the defense suppression can be tied to, but absent those, it was pre-nerfed so as not to be better than intended and have to be nerfed later when the better events came along.

Not just EvMA but all powers that now use the same functionality.

Today's patch does back off some of the suppression. However, it still suppresses on any buffing of allies, which still includes toggle effects like Leadership or Shadow Fall.
