I need a Spines/Fire Brute made for fire farming. I would have Burn on Auto-cast while it follows a seperate farmer. I need the normal def/res stats with some good damage and recharge. If someone could post a build here for me to use (at most 5 purples) it would be really appreciative. Thanks!

Just curious on the strategy here.   While a brute can be a monster farmer, they depend upon fury to be competitive (or exceed) tankers and scrappers.   If the brute is on autofollow, it may not take any alpha, nor build lots of fury (curious what the other toon would be).   Just a thought, if the other toon followed the brute, sure.   If the brute is following, I'd personally go tanker or scrapper.

With the current aggro caps, your second brute will get plenty of attention leading to plenty of fury. Any teammate (even pets) will increase the amount of mobs that you can keep close which makes farming faster and more efficient. You'd have to farm some of the tighter maps (caves/tunnels/meteor asteroid whatever it's called lol).

The build will be pretty useless anywhere but farming but mainly what you'd need to build for would be of course fire def/res (if you're planning to farm fire) then dump the rest into damaging auras.  Some may disagree but I say to slot lots of accuracy in the auras, if all it's doing is missing with the damaging auras then it won't speed anything up other than getting more mobs around you. Then, of course get enough recharge in so burn is firing as much as possible and look for IO sets that give damage buffs. Since it'll be afk and you can only have one auto power firing, you'll be relying only on burn and damage auras only. Throw the brute ATO that builds fury into one of your damage auras as well if you see it's not building enough. You can also play around with procs in the damage auras and find out which ones have the most impact and where.

All in all, it's definitely viable to burn the map down quickly.

Anyway, my .02.

I threw this together. Should work. No hasten since your auto power will be Burn. Should have enough regen and end to make it through. Last power you can chose. I'd probably go Rise of the Phoenix or a movement power (Flight or Jump).

This is what I'm running with on Torchbearer, but it's Rad and not Spine.  He AFK 8/+4 in Asteroid map within ten minutes.  Just turn on all toggles and Auto Burn.  I like the map AFK+ by @Mista Snacks that has Invulnerable Bros running around and the mobs are Fire Homies.  I just plant him near the center somewhere near the Invulnerable Bros. The mobs will turn their attention from the Invulnerable Bros to you and eventually allow the Invulnerable Bros to break free and run all over the place and agro the mobs and bring them to you. This works most of the time and within 10 minutes, they're all cleared the the map resets.  Can't ask for more except if they could extend it for an hour or more... then I could truly be AFK.

You can have two and have them do what I call the Watz of Death.  Put them in the middle and have them follow each other.  They will dance around and burn up everything in their path.

Any Brute or Tank that can survive the environment and has one or two damage auras (preferably proc’d) and one PBAoE set on automatic should do about as well as any other.  In my “i’m not going to research this for three weeks but instead apply a leeetle common sense” approach analysis

Not all builds will do just as well as any other.  Not everyone is well versed in all things COH.  My first attempt at building an AFK farmer was a Dark/Savage tanker.
He can survive 8/+2 but kills ten times slower than a /Fire brute.  So yeah you can spend three weeks researching and building a farmer that turned out to be a dud and leave most of the mobs alive, or apply a leeetle common sense and use someone's tested build that would wipe out all the mobs of 8/+4 when you come back in ten minutes. The OP requested a build so I gave him one.  That probably saved him three weeks of research right there.

Thank you for doing that.  Common sense is always easier in hindsight.  The early part of a learning curve sucks.  (I've decided to learn nothing new in life, I am safe there)

Now that I re read my post there were a lot of assumptions I made.  "Pick the Farm type you will run on"  "Pick an armor that is easy to top resists and softcap Def for that farm" and a bunch of stuff I just assume people know as they are talking about farming, which I consider a very late game strategy.  ( I only have started to farm, and I do it sporadically...  I am moving in a week, may set up a system to always have a farmer going there....)

So, thatnks to you.  And to everyone who diligently offers advice and help to all who come to the forums.  I currently do not Brute much.  But this is my "home forum"  Where I learned so much on live and found gems like Dark/Invul high recharge builds and Hyperstrike's Invulnerability monsters.

It's all good.  I'm still learning myself.  I've actually just revised my build about a week ago after seeing @Briggs video on his farmer.  That's where I learned the magic number for defense is 45%.  Before then I had them split in multiple places.  So I revised my build to get at least 45% fire defense and that makes all the difference.
I usually farm to power level my kids' new toons and decorate them and I'll take others along for the ride while I'm at it. Having a hands off farmer allows me to do that without sinking all my time into it.
I wish more people would post their builds on this forum so I won't have to hand build all my kids toons in Mids.

I do not have any Spines/Fire or I would.  I post nearly every build I make to the boards in one forum or another.  I learned in art class feedback is essential.  I do it out of selfishness rather than community service.  I am a villain after all.

I tend to build sideways to a lot of the community however.  I use a very good Farm build that was designed for me.  But it looks insane to me.  I have the build (extremely expensive) on two toons.  One on my main account, one on the alt account that I use to PL my main acct.  I had to slap a Task Force alt build on both those or I could not sleep at night.  (pretty expensive) The build is the way I normally build.  If it had been my Farm build I would have altered a few things.  Not come anywhere near the clear speed of the lopsided killing machine I was told to use.

My Blaster builds are not well loved.  I tend to build for Ranged combat only.  THis....does nnot get a lot of love from Blaster experts.  THey are correct.  There is more damage to be had building as a Blapper.  It is the way Blasters were designed to be played.  Not my thing.  But if you want someone exploring the pure ranged arena you would do worse than looking at my strange threads in the Blaster forums.
