Penguin Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I know that petless Masterminds are generally seen as quite weak, but I want to see just how far this can be pushed in performance. The build type I'm looking for is something to work similar to a scrapper with a bit of support mixed in. Ideally, the three whip attacks should be the primary sources of damage, with absolute minimal usage of other attacks like Cross Punch. I'm not sure if this is possible to be viable, but I'd still like to see what can be done with min/maxing.
StrikerFox Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 A whip attack chain is doable. Cor-Lash-Cor-Crack-repeat, does't need a lot of recharge to run. As long as Crack Whip's recharge is 4.9s or less, the chain will be seamless. 1 1
Penguin Posted June 28, 2021 Author Posted June 28, 2021 That's true and definitely a good start. My main issue is that I'm not very familiar with sets, certainly not enough to min/max.
Penguin Posted June 28, 2021 Author Posted June 28, 2021 Another note: if anyone reading this is willing to make a build in Mids for this, please do! I'd love to see what someone who knows what they're doing can make for this concept!
plainguy Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 (edited) This is going to be your road block.. Endurance.. I Power level all my Petless and semi petless ( last pet only ) mastermind builds. I tried doing it the old fashion way but I got to 28 and just couldn't handle the frustration of it. Incarnates is what balances it out. This is my Merc Pain I am still working on.. It was Contra Game Theme.. Bill Rizer and Lance Bean was the Pet.. Edited because I had unleash potential on so it inflated numbers.. Don't like posting a build like that as it appears false. Also I think Unleash Potential has changed.. So the MIDs numbers are incorrect.. If you could also get Smash and Lethal maxed along with range that would be good as well. As you can see endurance is an issue. 1.48 use over 2.58 recovery.. Recovery should be 3 points over use.. So it should be 1.48 over 3.48 at a minimum. The unique IOs get you some added endurance but it is not added in the MIDS numbers.. But still not close to 3.48... You need World of Pain Perma.. If you could do it without hasten that would be good as well this way WOP could be auto.. But I cannot figure it out ATM.. Ideally you would want Range/Melee or Smash /Lethal with S/L resistance cap and it would be kick good. I can do this on trick arrow and they are fun builds.. Look at my signature as it links to my petless thread. Maybe you can peel some ideas off that as well. carnalchaos Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Just ran a Moonfire task force with a petless MM that used the whip attacks and fighting pool. Crysis Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 (edited) @plainguy is the crazy petless MM. I’ve tried it and ended up respeccing into full MM builds it as I just didn’t like the feel of playing a MM minus pets. But to the Endurance issues, I just stocked up on recovery serum, the Survival Amplifier, refreshed my base recovery empowerment buff frequently and also took a secondary (three different ones for three different builds) like Kin, Time or Cold for the +End. On Cold, Heat Loss slotted up on a high recharge build is dang near as powerful as Destiny Ageless by itself. Endurance was very manageable that way. The Victory Rush power is also useful. Endurance isn’t a huge issue in HC due to all the buffs available from different sources. Edited August 6, 2021 by Crysis 1

This won't help you make WOP perma. but you can use this to make hasten and WOP auto fire. I use this trick on several of my toons for various skills + hasten. It works beautifully 1 1 Baseline MM Henchmen Defenses and Resist Values MM - Beast Pets - Pet Attack usage and some quick proc testing
