RockoDaTroll2 Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Don't burn me if this has been mentioned before, but I am rarely on the forums, or the internet for that matter; except in CoH and for work. Thus, I haven't mined the forums for how many times this has been suggested before. Suggestion: Reduce Local chat range to something like 20 feet and create a new chat called something like "Distant" which picks up the remaining range Local had before. This would allow a lot of the open and private areas 'feel' larger and mitigate *some* of the chat-scroll. Just a thought. 1
Sunsette Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 I think this is a problem maybe better handled by tweaks to chat balloons. Spatial representation of text works better than attempting to filter chat logs more severely I think. 1 Sundered Marches: The Website | The Official Soundtrack! | The Campaign Setting!
Greycat Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 TO me this would just overcomplicate *local* chatting in a group - 20 feet is *not* that far. If you're looking at chat vs broadcast vs team vs supergroup - which, yes, all together can get to be a bit much - filtering out by tabs can help. Or using team, if you've got a specific group you're talking to. 1 Kheldian Lore and Backstory Guide 2.0: HC edition Out to EAT : A look at Epic ATs - what is, could have been, and never was Want 20 merits? ninja surprise Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 I'd suggest removing "Local" from your chat window and only watching for people's bubbles nearby. Then keep Broadcast for chats across the zone. 1
