Help Improve my first fire farmer

This first fire farmer is based on a post for a low cost Fire Farmer (Old McDonald).  So I call it Farmer's Wife.  Trying to figure the best way to improve it, since I net only about 10 Mil per hour using farm 2915 in the AE.   Aside from simply replacing some enhancements with L50s (low cost built from scratch) I'm wonderign if I should use different enhancments.  And why. I noticed many farm builds don't use the Brute Archetype enhancents.  Perhaps the bonus isn't good for farming?  Should I just start a new build instead of modifying this one or respec?

 

Any advice is truly appreciated.  BTW, this is also my first attempt at export/import from Mids to the Forums, so I appologize if there was a better way to get the build in post that I am unaware of.  OH I noticed that the code block to import into Mids didn't come through.  So I did something wrong.  Sorry.

Thanks Plvrizr.  Funny, sometimes you are just too close to things to see the obvious.  Like swapping the Def Buff for more LoTG in Combat Jumping.

 

For other things I'll need to look more closely to see how and why you made certain changes.  I do notice that you reduced the RchRdux on Hasten to 2 slots instead of my 3 slots. Not sure why, but that does open up an extra slot for somewhere else.  Same with Fiery Embrace.  And removed the EndRdx from Fire Sheild.  I'm trying to see where those slots were used instead.

You were all over the place, low fire defense which negates 75% of the incomming attacks and had some +Sm/Le defense or +KB protection which does nothing on a fire farm.

Can run +3/8 with this, 40% defense and should be able to kill at a decent pace.  Not a huge difference between +3 or +4.  Added a villian epic, to give some extra AoE so Spine Burst, Ripper, Cross Punch, and Obliteration.  Once you have have made enough influence, use one of the standard builds.

My Defense is lower than I'd like, but I appear to be over the soft cap on fire resistance.  I tried a few changes to Combat Jumping and Weave in Mids but it didn't show improvement in my defense stats.  So I'm confused there.

 

I run at +3/8 ( or +4/8, have to check).  I saw a post of someone stating they farm 100 Mil and hour.  I get about 10-12.  Now, I don't necessarily need to trick out to 100 Mil (if that is not an exaggeration) but it does suggest I can improve.   I figure it to be how fast I an clear the map.  So I guess either my damage output needs to increase so I kill faster, or my survivability needs to increase so I can take on all the mobs at once so my AOEs kill even faster. 

 

I did do some villian missions so I can use the villian power pool if I want to respec.    This build lets me do some mission runs, so far w/o problems and allows me to get some Reward Merits so I can improve the enhancements (or unslot them).  I find Farming a boring but necessary evil that I must do to get funds to obtain decent enhancements and my incarnate powers.  So I need to get better at it so I have to do it less often.

 

Maybe I should make an alternate build.  Expensive but I do have a little money to start that off and make a  standard and better optimized fire farmer.

 

BTW, how do you export that chunk of Hex code some people have in their posts at the bottom of a build?

One of the options under export

 

And your defense is probably the big factor of 10m vs 100m an hour.  Yoy are taking a lot of damage even with 90 fire resist, which negates your survival.  At the same time, yoy are eating into anything that could be focused into damage.  The build I made, gives you a wide cone in spines which helps.  Burn and the villiam epic both have a -resit proc. Anything that cam give a small advantage helps.

Ah, you added an attack called Ripper.  And chose Soul Mastery as the Epic/Ancillary Power Pool.  There is another villain Epic Power choice that is popular with fire farmers too...I believe it has to do with electricity but I can't remember the name at the moment.

 

Think I'll try using an Alt Build slot to make a build.

 

It must be the Data Chunk option to get that "chunk" of Hex code I guess.  I'll try it on my next attempt at an export.

Yeah, electric.  Not really a fan of it, animations are a bit slow compared to the recharge.  Even at less than 2 seconds with enough recharge of 4-6 seconds you can pretty much chain it which slows down any other attack and the chain feels clunky.  The soul epic is a bit more fun,

For Hasten, it's a case of diminishing returns (my personal opinion) vs. bang-for-the-buck, elsewhere.  You only gain 7 seconds of recharge (133 vs 140).  Many sets start really heating up at the fourth and fifth slot, so you definitely could use that slot to beef up.

Well, I made an new Alternate Build for Farmers Wife. I call it Farmers Daughter.  It is below.  Tried to use some suggestions from here and other threads.  So I see my Fire Defense is lower than it was.  That's bad. 

 

I know I need to Respec this.

 

I decided to try out Mu Mastery.  Without the Energy Mastery, I now have Endurance Problems.  And my defense is worse than before.  I see I can expand Temperature Protection to 3 or 4, and equip with Ageis. That would help the fire defense, but not sure by how much.  Also Tough can be changed to Aegis and slots expanded to at least 3.  But I need to take slots away from other places. I can take one from Build Up and one from Fiery Embraces.  Not sure of other options.   The build is below.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm like 500 miles from my machine and builds so I can't post it here, but I have what I think is a pretty decent Spines/Fire/Energy Mastery brute that can do fire and s/l farms without problem, running just over 46% Melee Def and just over 86% S/L resists, nothing boosted.   Way I figure, by and large the most damaging incoming attacks will be ST Melee, and if I can minimize the effect of those, I can survive the AoE/Ranged stuff just fine, and that seems to be the case when I get on the maps; I might click Healing Flames once in a full cave map.

 

Way I did that was not monkeying around with an EPP that requires a bunch of slots to be effective, leaving some slots to spread around the build for +Melee Def set bonuses.  I use 6x Touch of Death in ST attacks, 6x Obliteration in PBAoE, and 4-slotting Unbreakable Guard in Fire Shield and Tough.  One of those got the UGuard +7.5% HP enhancement, but whichever one did also got the Steadfast Protection +Res/+Def unique and the Gladiator's Armor +Def unique.   As a side effect, I also had slots to add to Stamina/Health to address endurance issues between Ageless hits, and the Shield Wall/Reactive Defenses +Res(All) uniques.  

 

I know it's rather unbrutish to skip more AoE attacks in favor of relentlessly wading forward, but it's what I do.

He doesn't HAVE an ass.  That's one of the things we're transplanting!

Not being an asshole.  Cranky today.

 

Whats your global?  I can send a spare Superior Frozen Blast (Mu Epic AoE either Electric Fence or Ball lighting) and Superior Avalanche (Quills or Burning Aura).  Gives +12.5% fire defense, easiests sets to fit in the build since you have about 6 powers to choose to put the 2 in.  Also a Steadfast and Gladiators Armor for Temperature Protection, together is +6% defense.  Thats 18.5%, half your problem is solved. 

 

I got lots of extras just sitting around, just give me your @Global or shoot @Bonefire a tell so I can mail them, of if you play on Excelsior send a tell to Deadbloke my farmer.
