Developer Cobalt Arachne Posted June 5, 2019 Developer Posted June 5, 2019 THIS PROJECT COMMUNITY IS OPEN TO EVERYONE; ANY ALIGNMENT, ANY SUPERGROUP, THERE IS NO REQUIREMENTS FOR INVOLVEMENT/PARTICIPATION IN OUR EVENTS/COMIC! [!] You are not required to be a member of our SGs to participate in the project; All participating members are equal, being in the SGs grants no special privileges; The project has needs for all kinds, villains, heroes, Praetorians; What have you! [!] Fragmentary Veritas Project Community Discord: https://discord.gg/mydfKcc Fragmentary Veritas Webcomic: http://fragmentaryveritas.webcomic.ws/ This is the Fragmentary Veritas Project Community! An interactive role-playing web comic creativity project & communuity aimed at creating a roleplaying canon continuity and platform for the individuals who get involved! The goal of this project community is to create a web comic that is alive and dynamic and is written by the people involved through roleplaying. The characters in the comic are pulled from members of the community! The direction and path of the comic is a blank canvas and will be written by the roleplayers involved. Even I, as its creator, won’t know where things will go! It’s just as exciting for me as I hope it will be for the readers/participants! The project community does includes our in-game super groups, Veritas Corps; A rough around the edge hero-for-hire mercenary business group who’re just trying to get by. The group will take on contracted jobs in the form of RP/AE arcs created (with vetting) by the community members who wish to get involved and see their stories roleplayed/seen in the comic. We also have an OOC free-form SG for Villains who wish to be affiliated with the project; Veritas Villains! Later on the comic will have an in-game canon villain organization that we will establish when we reach that point. I’m willing to work anybody to make anything they can envision a reality in the comic and RP! Just like an actual adventure; You can’t predict the course of things; and I aim to capture that by tapping into the creativity and passion of the City of Heroes roleplaying community to create my web comic and a consistent RP canon for people to get involved in! I'm happy/available to answer anybody's questions regarding the project community; Our Discord includes an FAQ and the web comic has an About page; I would recommend checking those first but anything not covered I can detail! Excited to see what the comic becomes! See you all in the City! ;) Note: We are on the Everlasting server; Participation/involvement can be possible from people playing on other servers but will require more coordination. TheBizi Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Very cool idea! I'd love to have a panel or two in the comic! Talos Keys Boardwalk - An SG base made for the public RP community to use! It features a classy restaurant and additional attractions, ICly located in Talos Island. Check it out and use it for your RP needs at SG base passcode "Lounge-1871"
OmegaX123 Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 Well this sounds interesting for sure. Not sure that I'd want to be involved (at least at this early stage), between it being in its infancy and my RP skills not being what they used to be due to years of disuse, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it at least.
chase Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Looks sharp and rather bold step. I half expected a screenshot comic (nothing wrong with those, but the lack of facial expression was always a challenge for me in stories I wanted to tell... my (lack of) photoshop skills made trying to draw them on go hilariously awry, and you can only do so much with creative camera angles. Great formatting choice too- The columnar approach translates very well to phones in vertical format. Don't see that very often. Some of my CoH stuff. Old and newish

The composition formatting being tall was something I wasn't originally confident about so your comment is really appreciated. :) Love this game and its community? Want to give back? chase Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 It seems most webcomics hold out hope of going print someday and adhere to the typical comic book format. After reading Scott McCloud's Understanding / Making / Reinventing Comics trilogy, I experimented with a more PC-screen-friendly format once upon a time, but it doesn't translate well to mobile and from what I've read, that is one of the largest viewing demographics reported by most webcomic software. I *did* have to zoom out on my wide-screen laptop to assure I had enough of the frame appearing at once to follow along- it expanded well to fit, but the vertical spacing had things a bit too cut off, but that was a minor tweak that anyone viewing a standard comic-book-formatted comic is familiar with. Some of my CoH stuff. Old and newish
Flashtoo Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 god I would do this if I didn't already have my main published in something else entirely! wonder if I have a viable alt I could contribute... Character portrait artist for hire, PM for details! Commissions: Closed, Sorry
taokami Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 Wow this is a pretty neat idea. It's like a freeform TTRPG without the dice rolls.
Developer Cobalt Arachne Posted June 10, 2019 Author Developer Posted June 10, 2019 Wow this is a pretty neat idea. It's like a freeform TTRPG without the dice rolls. Thanks! Haha yeah it is kind of like that; Just using CoH's built-in system instead of a rule set. Love this game and its community? Want to give back? Volunteer as a Game Master!
