I can't find anyone saying this combo works, and i tried to look at two different builds and stitch them together. my problem is that the invuln/energy wanted most everything in invuln and the reflex/titan weapons build wanted most everything in titan so i can't fit these limited enhancement slots everywhere all at once. also i'm not sure what each other's half was providing to a coherent build so i am not sure this frankenstein mess i made is doing it anymore.
starting at first principals what i want to do is hit everyone with a big hammer and not die. but the reflex/titan build skipped over the only other AoE skill until level 38. I tried to tank for a group today and was having a long recharge between my tiny tiny tiny tiny arc that hit maybe two zombies, ever, if i was lucky. Just plain scrambling to get aggro on hordes.

This is what i got but i don't think it's working. I have a respec i'm sitting on. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Oh i'm sorry i didn't write down what levels i put what enhancement slots into what skills and i'm not 100% sure i didn't pick crushing blow and dull pain in the opposite order. This is just the best i can do from memory

Posted

Here's one I had lying around.  Defense is a little low, but it should play okay.  If you aren't allergic to weaknesses, you could swap some slots and sets to bring SL def to 45 instead of bulking up psi resistance.

is taunt as a skill spammable? i was looking at this guy's post from 3 years ago, like the instant i say i can't find anyone saying it's a good combo, and stop looking, i find people saying it's a good combo. I was just about to pull the trigger on titan sweep instead of crushing blow to get more cones out there but you went the taunt route?

Thanks for the build. i'm going to think hard about it.

e: did you work kick into the rotation there or was it just filler because of requirements? I had a MM build ask me to put kick in there while hovering around and summoning demons and it definitely felt like filler but this is a melee build so maybe it's good here?

I noticed you just clicked through every enhancement slot in order, probably not a leveling order, so i spread them out.
The first thing i am noticing and am not sure what's going on is that this is faster. I think i fundamentally didn't understand what momentum does. as long as it's not the first skill i use, defensive sweep is fast? if it has momentum? certain combos really whip. I'm liking this even though all i did was get rid of, idk, hasten? combat jumping? it's working. lean. i like it thank you .

I have a Rad/TW tank that is somehow the tankiest tank I've played and seen.  The only thing to even scratch that tank was Lord Recluse at the end of a +4x8 Liberty TF that I was tanking while everyone else was taking care of pylons - and I don't even think I had max level incarnates.  I am at work, but I can post a build later.

This is my build. I built mostly for resistance, and I decided to skip the fighting pool. It's been absolutely fine in all the content I've played with it. I went with leadership because I wanted the fear and confuse resistance. It has some endurance issues in the mid 20s and early 30s, but that all works out by level 50, so you can get any incarnate powers you feel like for it.

There are a lot of improvements that can be made to it, but it works and I have fun playing it.

You're a tank, your first job is to grab aggro.  You don't need to spam Taunt, but you do need a way to get the bad guys attention away from the vulnerable members of your team.  Kick is horrible and you will never use it unless you are doing an ultra low level run and have nothing else recharged.

Thanks for the idea. i was worried that you don't have any movement skills but I guess it's ninja run and jetpacks for this beefy lad.

Yes, Athletic run and the jump pack for most places. I could drop Unstoppable, move one slot from Stamina to Resist Physical Damage and stick the 7.5% health bonus there, pick up a travel power and get the 20% slow resistance in it. But I actually used Unstoppable when doing Sirocco's Mu arc.

You've said it before, I've read it before, and I don't disagree with you. I don't like it as a power and it's not a good emergency button, but it's not useless. It's just rare that you're in a situation where you need the endurance that badly. I guess now that the character is 50, I could take ageless for the same purpose.

But I did take it on NUT and JAW, just to mule Impervium Armor (five and four pieces, respectively)...

Is there a favored opening skill? defensive sweep might be the slowest if you don't have momentum? i'm just wondering if i should rearrange these so i don't ever sit still winding up for defensive sweep if possible. maybe rend armor is faster because it's single target? I can't tell if the first attack is always going to be slow and i'm just imagining it that some seem to be faster, slow, than others.

Posted (edited)

I tend not to use defensive sweep too much because it's kind of low damage and the it only provides smashing defense.

Without Momentum active, I tend to open with Crushing Blow. It's tempting to start with Rend Armour, because it has -resistance, but without momentum it seems to be a significantly slower attack than Crushing Blow. That said, if you're opening with Build Momentum, there's no reason not to do Rend Armour into Follow Through.
