Howdy Blasters. I found myself enjoying the hell out of a Fire/MA recently. Very agile, lots of AoE, and fun melee. I spent some time in working on a build, and after a couple of passes, I'm pretty sure I've squeezed just about as much as I could out of it. However, I figured I'd throw it your way, since I know y'all are so much better at Blasters than I am. That's not a dig. I only play melee.

A couple of points for those wanting to help:

-Must be exemp friendly.

-Fly is required for the concept. Combat Jumping is because I like Combat Jumping.

-I'm an extremely mobile player.

I've been working on a build myself.  I have SJ instead of fly, and nearly permahasten without Agility or Ageless.  I've tested on Brainstorm, the lack of regen and near uselessness of the heal and absorb dampen my enthusiasm on the build.  I have to bring along green skittles that I only need in case of emergency on my Atomic and Fire secondary blappers.

This is a pretty sour spot for me too. Makes me wonder if I should look into placing a few Power Transfer procs in there and seeing if it helps.

 

Comparing my build and yours, I'm starting to think 5 end/sec for recovery might be a little overkill. Maybe I can shift a few slots around and see where that gets me.

Ok, it was a pretty quick runover, but I moved a few slots around and managed to barely softcap s/l/nrg DEF with Agility Core. Throwing 2 pieces of Rectified Reticle blew my mind, so I had to steal that.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with it on paper. 4.4 end/sec for recovery is still overkill, but it's mostly because of Agility, and I want that to inch out the couple of DEF points I get from it. I'll definitely grab Musculature as a pocket for when I'm on 50+ teams.

Finally got time to sit down and look at this. I'm intrigued by a lot of it. Just a few questions before I give it a whirl in Brainstorm.

 

No Rain of Fire? Even taking into account that mobs get blown up at 50, is it not a decent DPS bump for AVs either?

 

Why slot Defiant Barrage in Burst of Speed? Not an expert on Blasters; I would assume you'd want it in a tier 1/2 blast. Then again, I guess it'd be a little redundant with Inner Will and RoP. Just marked it as a good spot for procs.

Personally I hate rains because they disperse mobs and make clean up take longer.  They tend to prolong things rather than help.

 

That's not always the way I slot Burst of Speed but I went with it this time. I just wanted the bonuses and BoS needed the damage and recharge, so it was a marriage of convenience. And yes the proc is inconsequential. And it's true I often have 5 Avalanche plus another proc, or three of the pvp set with its proc and say Eradication with it's proc or something... So feel free to play around with slotting 

 

And I rotate between RoP and melee hybrid so I don't even really need Inner Will.  I often run +4/8 TFs (w/o temps, inspirations, deaths) with just one or two other squishy players (like a blaster duo), so you could tone down some of that defense minded stuff if you don't need it and want to tune up even more damage.
