Your right, those whip attacks hurt, why would i expect fire attacks from demons ūüôā¬†Bad assumption to make. As to splitting the apoc set up i hadn't considered that- good idea although it means dropping something to squeeze in another power and losing 10% recharge i doubt that will matter if i stick to spiritual. Seems like¬†every choice is a bad choice, how much recharge are you prepared to sacrifice, will it affect how fast your burn fires off or is it irrelevant on a proper afk farmer? I ended up going back on the rad/fire/mu the kill speed was so much faster it was a joke and reminded me why the spines had been sat afk since year 1. Since the thread isn't purely for afk farmers and sometimes i'm active i'm still finding that the atta cave map is the best for either. I have the accolades for both hp is pretty high, i respecced the rad/fire for a bit more regen and it seems ok when i go afk , having body mastery on the spines doesnt seem to make a huge difference unless i'm standing right out in the open and i don't farm the meteor map anymore i got lazy and the constant zoning every 4-5 min put me off it. Thanks for all the replies, hopefully that afk farm build will get posted eventually that can survive but i'm pretty happy with what i have now and i'll probably end up throwing mu back on the spines if i ever use it again. It did have me wondering though.....since quills slots AT sets and irradiated doesn't- is it easier to get higher regen on a spines over a rad in which case the spines would jump to no. 1 afk farmer?

Burn recharge speed on an AFK farmer does matter in edge cases where critters have swarmed.

Rad/fire will always attain a little less hp/sec compared with spines/fire (with hp/sec a goal) because rad has no ranged attack (at least 1x ultimate regen less i.e. 16-28%). IG is a power I think few understand f.ex accuracy has to be added to the power so the pseudo-pet actually hits anything (all procs is no good if the power is whiffing all the time). Yes, Quills is easier to slot.

I use three types of AFK farmer: spines/fire and rad/fire (brutes both with HP accolades), spines/fire brute without HP accolades (a clone of the other spines/fire to satisfy my curiosity that it can live the AFK life too). Page 4 has not stopped them yet while they AFK but I realise they are one-RNG extinction event away from being stopped (fire blasts all rolling a hit simultaneously for a long moment) so I am curious to witness if that actually happens.

Closest in update to that(ie a large map with easy spot for sitters) thus far that I've seen is 45721 by Patty.  Its exp is just a sliver under the above talked about ones but survivability and length are there.

Isn't this essentially big gotter mobs in a freakshow map that hasn't been updated? This is essentially identical to any of the big gotter carnie maps right? Except I suppose the Dreck map offers substantially worse density than the carnie city layout.

Patty updated the mobs for her gotter version.  Its not the same as the original.

Try 51579.  For some reason, I can only see mobs' XP up through level 49 (I suspect because I use a 1440p monitor), but minions and lieutenants are both at 100% XP for level 49.  Bosses are at 95% XP for level 49 for specific reasons, but good enough for me.

on the topic of IG you can get away with 33% on the AFK build it aint perfect but it wont be best option is active and adding in atom smasher as for the breakage yeah it's close i agree i changed the AFK build a little to this basicly altered slight accuracy in pseudo pets and added a little regen/HP props to angel for the template

PSA: These missions use swords, so are no longer viable.

Also, 100% without swords is somehow less than 100% with swords.

You can still use the missions with swords, but you must pop small purples to keep your fire defense between 55-70%. This was working fine for me in beta before someone clued me in that you could remove the sword attacks and keep 100% exp.

Having said that, how much experience loss are you seeing? The UI was showing 100% exp for my AE fire farm.

All maps have been updated for Page 5. Will update the OP later to reflect this.

Using the rad/fire builds in the OP, active farming is pulling in 90% of what it was, and AFK farming is pulling in 40% of what it was.

Roughly translates to:

3x AFK farmers resetting every 5/10 mins = ~80 million inf per hour

1 x active farmer resetting every 3.5 mins + 2 x AFK farmers resetting every 5/10 mins = ~150 million inf per hour

Imagine Rad/Fire brutes aren't the go-to for AFK farming anymore. And there's probably better stuff to active farm with now. S/L farming with rad armor might be a better option now.

  • America's Angel changed the title to Page 5 Fire Farming Microguide (Maps + Builds)

Thank you for the voices of sanity and the good advice.

I'm following these guidelines and seeing the scale read 100% in the AE creator, but when I publish and go into my farm, my boss INF is the same as LT INF: 20,504 -- this is with them at lvl 54 and me set at +4/x8

I've just now tried your updated maps and I'm seeing the same: Angelbot v2.5 gives 20,504 inf and Angelbot v3.5 gives 20,504 inf. Is there a setting I'm missing? Something I'm doing wrong?

I just ran the mission on live to double check and got this:

Do you have bosses turned on in your difficulty settings? If not, then the bosses will spawn as LTs.

You can turn on bosses via the notoriety menu in the chatbox:

I didn't think to check that setting. Thanks for the reminder. Now that I've set notoriety properly, I'm seeing the expected results.

That's not very logical.  Rad armor can already cap out against Fire easier than against S/L, so if Rad Armor were more dps than Fire armor, it would have already been the choice.

I don't do forum debates when it comes to farming. I just look at ingame results.

From what I've seen active farming today ingame, it seems  my Rad/SS tank is clearing the asteroid faster than my rad/fire brute since the Burn/IG nerfs in Page 5.

Need to test a bunch more to confirm, though. But it looks like my suspicion might be correct. Will post the findings in this thread.

So far in testing my rad/fire brute is at ~3:30 and the rad/ss tank is at ~3:00. (Without using Lore on either.)

Hi @America's Angel, thanks for keeping things positive and providing resources for people interested in this.

I'm definitely curious about your results because lately I've been farming with my rad/claws scrapper just for a change of pace on a s/l dreck map these days. I'm assuming it's an active farm result with proc bombed rad powers? I am not surprised at all if rad/* is going to do very well as a farming character especially if custom built for that purpose.

I'm a rather skeptical of those comparative times.  Would be nice to see more empirical data concerning that.
