Hi! I'm curious about adding new weapons to weapon-based powersets.

Specifically, I'm really interested in adding a nodachi to the Titan Weapons powerset. Ya know, something like this:

Épinglé sur Samurai stuff

Big honkin' sword. Sephiroth-style.

I figure, it's not super-accurate to the actual blade geometry, but it wouldn't be too hard to take one of the existing models for a katana and play around with the scaling to make it bigger but still proportional. And then, I dunno, you'd have to move around the bones in the mesh where hands are supposed to connect so that it would move correctly in animations?

Which got me wondering if this was work I could do myself with something like nifskope or blender, which got me wondering the titular question of the post, namely, what actually goes into making a new weapon costume piece? Is this the kind of thing the community could learn to help out with, and we could pool some effort to create possible weapon additions that the devs would then vet for overall aesthetic consistency and completion and then add in? Or is it a rather technical and complicated process that we should kinda leave alone and respect the effort?

I think the most requested and desired weapon set would be a Whip set, ike the one MMs have with Demons.

And like it could have an Aim/Build Up replacement like Swap Ammo, where the whip could be flaming, electrified, dark tendrils, etc.

The Live devs tried making a whip set. Even hyping it up. Then they couldn't do it and it got converted into the Demon Summoning set with whip animations for the 3 range attacks the MM gets. If the HC devs can pull it off? Great! Whips, please! You probably shouldn't hold your breath though.
