Thanks roxin for posting.   Because of you I have found that there is a new version of Mids Reborn out.

May I ask what your using this Necro/Elect MM for?   I ask this because you have a +Perc Rectified Reticle slotted and the only folks that use that are PvPers.   And what powers are you looking to Power Boost?

I took a gander at your Set bonuses and see that the build has only +8% Recovery with 6 toggles running?    I don't have an issue with the toggles, but the low recovery has to cause you problems with End in your gameplay.  I can't imagine it won't, but then again, your using Energizing Circuit (EC).   I'm thinking that getting rid of Hasten and having EC on auto might be the way to go.  Will that be enough +End and will having EC on auto work?  IDK.

Also, with Soul Extraction, wouldn't you want to slot for +Rech to have it up as much as possible?  And you're over the rule of 5 on 15.06 HP bonuses.

I just noticed that you have no ACC slotted in Gloom.   I can see that you want to use this power as a proc mule, but if the power can't hit the target - all those procs will never activate.    Edit:   Your using Gloom to only spawn spectrals.  My mistake.    Edited again:  I would slot a 6th slot in Gloom so that this attack could be used as a traditional attack that procs a bunch.   This way, your slotting for the actual attack and the Spectrals.   I would slot a +5 ACC enhancement.

Dark Blast, Gloom, Life Drain

  • These powers now have a 70% chance to summon a Spectral Minion to your side!
  • These Specters are temporary, lasting a maximum of 90 seconds as their health fades away by the second.
  • These Specters cannot be healed or regenerate, but have decent resistance to all damage and defense against AoE attacks.
  • These Specters cannot be commanded or upgraded, but slotting your personal attacks will improve their attack stats.
  • Each attack can only summon one Specter, for a maximum of 3 if all attacks are used.

Additionally, I strongly suggest you slot ACC in Zombie Horde.  Oh, my.   Those guys spawn 2 levels below you!

...you have a +Perc Rectified Reticle slotted...

If your plan is to use RR to get past blinding affects I believe you also must slot the +Perception TP enhancement as well. When I tried with just RR on another toon it did not suffice alone.

And what powers are you looking to Power Boost?

Power boost is great with electric boosting the heals/absorb and helps to maintain a healthy endurance bar. Really great to use PB followed by Insulating Circuit before engaging mobs for a sturdy start to the mob take down.

I agree this build is going to have endurance issues. The /electric skills could use more endurance reduction. The defensive toggles are a bit overloaded with slots moving some of them to the /electric skills  will help with this. Also fully slotting Zombie Horde and shifting the aura enhancement buffs between to the pets.

Soul Extraction is absolutely amazing you will want this skill up as much as possible and slotted for dmg imo, with a proc or two. I wouldn't drop hasten in favor of reducing SE recharge while empower circuit does wonders to bring it back up you'll be buffed by EC less than half the time of the recharge most likely.

My Thoughts of your Build:

------------

-Reduce defensive slotting - your pets will take a lot of the dmg for you. Remain in body guard mode at all times.
Add Luck of The Gambler + Recharge to your defensive toggles
    Change Reactive Defenses to LotG

-Remove 1 slot from Power Boost - +5 the one recharge enhancement

-Remove 2 Slot from Gloom - used slot to pad /electric

-Remove Kismet From Combat Jumping - not really needed

-Drop Stealth in favor of Leadership pool - use Maneuvers to benefit your pets as well. Slot +stealth IO in sprint for a little stealth if you're looking for that. And change Super Jump to     Super Speed for better stealth.

-If soloing alot drop Amp Up (it doesnt benefit pets) and grab tactics then you and your minions have perception protection.

-The extra knockback protection isn't needed most of the time but I have had a couple battles where I wish I had it - so I left it in your build. But you could free those two slots for something else if wanted.

-Changed enhancements for empowering circuit to fit endurance reduction.

-Move one of the slots I freed up to Tough for endurance resist/endurance reduction slotting.

-Insulating Circuit - Can use better heal % and endurance reduction. If you want to keep the absorb proc in the build Id 6 slot it with preventive medicine and at 6 pieces gives 8.25% recharge.

   - Enchant Undead and Dark Empowerment: Slot 2 Resist and 2 Heal to boost pets survivability; 2 Resist in Enchant Undead and 2 Heal in Dark Empowerment.

-Diversify Pet Enhancement Slotting allowing the use procs that trigger by the pets attacks.

-Soul Extraction: Unable to slot 2 enhancements in mids. I'd recommend Cloud Senses chance for negative damage. The last slot is really a playful slot depending what you want but I like to use Overwhelming Force chance for knockdown. Cloud senses has a chance to proc off the Soul's main attack and heal, and OF +KD can proc on each attack I believe. Very handy against bosses - watch them flop around. I've also used Touch of the Nictus chance  for energy damage but that only procs on the heal cast every 15 seconds.

-Move Gaussians +Dmg proc to Tactics. Every teammate and pet Tactics affects has a chance to proc +DMG on you.

-Energizing circuit will serve you better if you drop the +end proc and just slot for endurance reduction.

-------------

I would have to play the build and fine tune toward content goals to know for sure if its something I'd keep.

I have been running a necro/ea as well. Ill share the build if you'd like. Otherwise I hope the above wasn't to far off base for you.

@Harakh i'd love to see your own build. I recently respecced mine (working my way through the mm's slowly) during tot but didn't have mids to play around with it so its still as it was then. Never occurred to me to slot life drain for the lich's benefit. Newly updated mids isn't allowing pet in some powers still, i didn't realise new soul extraction could slot - to hit now. If your slotting defensive toggles your still better off with a lotg 7.5% and 3 reactive in one with a lotg 7.5% and 3 shield wall in another for better overall bonuses instead of just tossing them in cj/hover and using 3 lotg in the toggle. I dropped shock for defibrillate in the last respec but now mids is kind of working i need to respec again. Looking like this now and yes i still run into melee first, only now i drop faraday instead of spamming the heal as i would on the kin:

@Harakh i'd love to see your own build.

Alright Ill share mine once I get to the other comp.

Never occurred to me to slot life drain for the lich's benefit. Newly updated mids isn't allowing pet in some powers still, i didn't realise new soul extraction could slot - to hit now.

Without going back and reading what I said some wires got crossed, or just a mistyping; I did not slot life drain for the lich's benefit but for my own, but Dark Empowerment was slotted with Heal IOs benefits all your pets Life Drains.

Quote

If your slotting defensive toggles your still better off with a lotg 7.5% and 3 reactive in one with a lotg 7.5% and 3 shield wall in another for better overall bonuses instead of just tossing them in cj/hover and using 3 lotg in the toggle.

Those bonuses are moot when you're already running a Resistance Primary AND secondary. I used 3 LoTG so you can use those 4th slots else where.

I dropped shock for defibrillate in the last respec but now mids is kind of working i need to respec again. Looking like this now and yes i still run into melee first, only now i drop faraday instead of spamming the heal as i would on the kin:

I personally would use Discharge over Shock or Defibrillate. Leveraging the -DMG debuff as well as endurance drain is real effective. At least at the difficulties I'm soloing I have plenty of time to drain endurance while pulling in surrounding mobs to have a continuous battle until the room is clear.  But I have shock and discharge... Ill share that build asap.

... only now i drop faraday instead of spamming the heal as i would on the kin:

A tip using Faraday cage just in case you're not aware. The buff last, I think 8 seconds, after leaving the area. This means you can cast Faraday cage before entering the fight to buff you & your pets - send them in and cast discharge if you have it and set down a new Faraday in melee.  Very sturdy beginning.

The 3rd slot in Enchant Undead is for Gladiator's Armor +DEF. I put Steadfast Protection +DEF in Faraday Cage because of the +res to boost Faraday over Enchant Undead.

Web Envelope can go from 5 to 3 slots moving those into Life Drain for the 2.25% extra endurance, 5th bonus of Touch of Nictus.

Soul Extraction, Dark Watcher's = Cloud Senses Proc. And forgot to switch Nucleolus Exposure to Soulbound Allegiance DMG/RCH/ACC; its heavy on DMG and RCH - still messing around with the slotting.

Harakh, thank you for posting your Necro/Elect build!

Even though I am currently working on a Necro/Dark MM, I was able to get a really good idea from your build.  I would like to return the favor by posting my unfinished Necro/ build in the hopes it gives you something to think about.

Please focus on how I slotted Soul Extraction.   I use it as a mule to load up the henchmen/pet auras.   You know, the +Res, +Def, and +Regen stats that make the henchmen so resilient in battle.  The purpose of slotting this way is to free-up the Henchmen slots for more beneficial enhancements.  Also, note how I slotted Lich.  I think when it comes to the Lich, you can look at 10 seperate builds by 10 different players and get none that match.  The Lich is tough to figure out.

Thanks for the advice although I don't think your use of Soul Extraction is well advised.

Since the revamp of Necromancy Soul Extraction, imo, is best to have at least some recharge (if not lots) and at least a dmg proc if not dmg % as well. The skill is such a huge DPS increase for Necro and to divide the pet aura IO's amongst all the pets allows SE to shine, and it SHINES.

My build has all the pet aura def & res IO's. There is no meaningful % differences in our pets slotting only difference I see is you slotted Grave Knight with a Build Up Proc, but severally gimping Soul Extraction.

If I'm missing your point please do tell otherwise I kindly disagree.

Even before the page 5 changes i didn't like to play builds where hell on earth/soul extraction were just mules for the pet uniques and its something i commented on in beta. Thye are both useful powers and soul extraction now puts your necro pets into the top tier as dps when its out so its definitely worth slotting for that.

Posted

I also do not use Soul Extraction as a mule for pet IOs. I crank up the recharge and add in some damage (although I wish I had more slots).

MM IOs, Pet IOs, and RI Pet IOs each have weaker 5-6 slot bonuses IMO making it easier to mix and match the unique procs and fit them all in reasonably well without having to sacrifice too much for it.

Posted

Slots to pet ratio, Soul Extraction is far superior over the other henchmen. 6 slots to improve 6 pets VS 6 slots for 3 pets, 6 for 2, and 6 slots for 1 pet.  If a mule is needed, I would sooner sacrifice the slotting on the Lich, or maybe Zombies, to make it work. Or frankenslot all the pets to scrounge what's needed.

Well, once again, you have enlightened me.   I was using Soul Extraction (SE) as a type of Gang War.   I was under the premise that the power was more to disrupt the baddies verse actually damaging 'em.

With this knowledge I have adjusted SE.   I'm still using it as a mule though - well, for the most part.

I also changed SE slotting after we chatted. After comparing what we changed I highly recommend you try my variation if you can sacrifice a tiny bit of accuracy. My build has +To Hit so its not an issue for me.

So if you sacrifice a little accuracy I say try mine because:

  • when looking at damage numbers my Zombies are only 1.71% lower damage than yours but are holding 3 of the pet aura IOs vs your 1.
  • looking at Soul Extraction my #'s are superior in nearly every way (except acc) plus I have 1 dmg proc and 1 knockdown proc which you have none
  • I am currently running same slotting on Grave Knights except trying out Shield Breaker proc instead of +build up

My build with enhancement changes:

I never consider Endurance Reduction in my main pets and I'm unsure if your pets experience endurance issues running /Dark and if ER works towards pet attacks anyway - just a late thought

Harakh, you nailed it with the slotting on SE.  And with 2 damage Procs!

Your henchmen with SE would out-damage mine, no doubt.  I have too much ACC slotted into my henchmen, with Tactics running in the background.  I can concede that.

I wonder how much down-time you would have with your current slotting of SE?  It can't be much.  Tough to tell with Mids.  (Edit:  12.3 sec)

My memory is fuzzy on this point, but I recall testing the Shield Breaker proc and not liking the rate at which it triggered compared to Soulbound's Build-up.  You might want to test that out yourself.

Oh, one more thing, you overlooked placing L50 IOs in your Lich and +5'ing.

Divide SE's recharge by 4 (SE's old base recharge was 600s, now it's 150s. 4x less ), and subtract 30 seconds (Duration of SE pets), will give SE's downtime on each individual build. For example, Mids' shows my SE recharges in 153s/4-30s=8.25 sec downtime. Though things can change it like Ageless with diminishing return over time, non-perma Hasten, buffs like Chrono Shift/Speed Boost/Accelerate Metabolism/Force Feedback etc.
