Storm/Elec blapper build ideas?

So I haven't seen anyone mention storm blast in this sub forum since it rolled out, so I'll start. 

 

I am working up a Storm/Electric Manip blapper. So far I'm level 17 but it's been a fun ride. It's end hoggy and I started slotting stuff towards that with a performance shifter proc. I assume Electric Melee has tools for that later on.

 

I'm also putting in FF+Rech in the slowest melee power, which helps things recharge faster. So far I have only taken Hasten and Super Speed for Pools. 

 

I feel like Storm Cell really does soften up a mob. I joined a 50+ team in PI and surprisingly it even helped with +4 Carnies. The Snipe hits hard. This build gets build up, intensify, and storm cell. That's alot of damage and tohit buffage. 

 

Anyone with Electric Melee build tricks? I know we are all anxiously awaiting the Mids update for Storm Blast, but surely someone is a blap expert with Electric?

skip electric fence and force of thunder. otherwise, good things await.  you can put the end mod dmg bonus'y ones in dynamo.

 

electrical mastery (epic power pool) adds a decent cone, a res armor, emp blast (surprisingly useful), and 'i am resist tank for 2m' mode. big cds on those last 2. i put 2 recharge in each and leave them aside. with hasten and that it becomes reasonable.

 

you can micro the 10s crash (no end) using power sink, or just pop a couple blues.

 

i play /elec manip on an elec primary, so there is almost never an end issue, ever.

 

i hear storm is hungry tho, so /elec may assist.

EF helps immobilize AVs, FOT is the quickest recharging area control of all blaster T8s and it can be used in conjunction with thunder strike to keep mobs knocked down around you. The fact that both TS and FoT has a chance to also stun is a bonus. Unlike other form of low mag hard control that other blaster T8s feature, knock down doesn't care about critter rank. If you ever lived a melee blaster life at all you'd appreciate how useful that form of mitigation can be in helping you face tank content. It has a lot of synergy with storm because the knockdowns keep stuff in storm cell.

 

I went all in on theme and took whirlwind, the game plan is to use the knockdowns to keep stuff on their butts around me and to trigger FF procs so I can storm more.

While FoN is a weaker form of Super Strength's Handclap in that FoN has a 50% chance to stun, that's still 50% which ends up stunning 5 mobs when at 10 or more targets. That's not bad for a form of mitigation by any means.

 

While Electric Fence can be used to help prevent runners, chances are if you're teaming that someone else might be say a controller or domi and have imobs covered. So in practice it's usefulness will vary.

 

A stormblast/elec blaster I would design to operate in melee range as that's the bread and butter of a number of your powers.
