Saiyajinzoningen Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 Greetings. I play at a very horrible time like 4am est. which mean teams are scarce. So i spend a great deal of time solo which is fine. I love the game either way. However, I am constantly coming across broken flashback quests that require me to either reset or wait for a GM to investigate and complete for me. Can we please get a flashback quest autocomplete function/feature? I know people are into farms or whatever but there's so much unique and interesting pre 50 content. Thanks 2 Its easy to criticize a suggestion but can you suggest an alternative?
Arc-Mage Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 The Flashback system is basically a Task Force. Task Forces were never meant to have parts of it dropped. If I remember correctly this is why the Flashback system will never have a drop feature. It would require major rework of the code. Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it just means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own. With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. Other servers have implemented various ways to address this issue. And while you are quick to cast aspersions, how about an alternative suggestion to fix the very real problem of bugged quests? 1 Its easy to criticize a suggestion but can you suggest an alternative?
Arc-Mage Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Sometimes while playing, if I come across a bug that didn’t exists before, in the back of my head I wish the Devs would stop creating for a short time. I sometimes get the impression that the more they fix things the more other things break. So…maybe if they stop and just rewrite the chunks that are messed up, they won’t have that problem anymore. Then I start playing again and forget about that thought. Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it just means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own. TheZag Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Autocomplete was added to lessen the load on GMs when quests got bugged. Fixing every single bug in every single quest would be the ideal solution but isnt practical unless development on new features and content is stopped so no new bugs are introduced. Using the flashback system places players back into those exact same quests that warranted the need for the autocomplete system but denies its use. Most of the time there are no problems but most of the time isnt all of the time. Our GMs are very helpful but they cant be everywhere. I had to escort some NPCs to an objective and they got stuck, i sent in a ticket and spent the next 50 minutes trying to get them to follow again. I finally got them moving and completed the mission. In my particular case, a GM wasnt able to respond until quite a while after the ticket was sent and the mission had been long completed. AE uses a different version of task force mode so it may be possible for flashback content to be different from regular task forces. I couldnt speak for it being easy or not, though.
lemming Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Hopefully you've been reporting the bugged ouro arcs as well. Sometimes a fix somewhere will break an item that was taking advantage of buggy behaviour elsewhere. It's certainly not new to HC since I remember quite often a release on live would break other things that had been working fine before. (Or an old bug would reappear) If it was possible for an autocomplete, I wouldn't object 1
