Can we customize how our minions look?

No, at least not yet. One or two other servers has created a way to do it so it is possible.

Frequently asked for feature, no ETA or anything like that, though...  You can customize your controller/dominator pets, though.

Based on some of the chatter I've heard, Homecoming is scheduled to MERGE with at least one other server that currently has a 'pet customization' mod built in. Considering that the players on there would probably be rather sore about LOSING such a nifty ability, it seems likely that it will be implemented across Homecoming at that point.

 

There's no ETA on that, though, but it DOES suggest that it WILL happen... eventually.

Even the servers that have the pet customization options haven't solved the issue of the pet upgrades adding auras/costume parts to the characters. At least one of those devs I talked to said that it was possible just a lot of work to even just making the parts/auras invisible. So even on those servers, if you reskin your Thugs to police officers, they'll still get the bandannas, leather jackets, etc. when you upgrade them. Even just making the parts invisible would be work, and of course then that would take the parts away from the people who wanted to use them on the regular pets - so then you need to make the invisible parts option a new power, and make sure it's mutually exclusive with the regular upgrade powers...

 

Basically there area lot more variables involved than just making the base pets editable with the costume designer.

Honestly, just being able to set them to other 'similar' existing enemy models would be a great start, imo.

Like, bots could be switched for either Primal (rusty) or Praetorian-style Clockwork.
