Grav/Kin Accuracy Help!

Hello!

 

I have been playing a Gravity/Kin Controller and having a ton of fun with it.  I am doing sort of a proc build.  I joined a PI group and they pumped it to 53 and I noticed I was having a real hard time landing anything.  I checked out my build and noticed that I seem to only have about a 45 to 60% chance to hit 53 mobs.  I am not sure where else to get the accuracy from.  The reason I slotted so many 4 slot LoTGs was to get the accuracy from them.  I am trying to avoid using to much purple I don't have very much influence.

In Mid's, there's an option in the menu bar to change the enemy relative level. Set that to +3 or +4 and then look at the accuracy in each power. It seems to me like you should be OK, with the possible exception of Crushing Field and Wormhole.

Punching up against +4 sucks, but with tactics running and accuracy slotted it shouldn't be terrible. I've been crunching numbers and trying to get a good handle on fundamental game mechanics. See the data table here on this link:

(39+15)*1.6=86.4. Maybe there was something else going on like debuffs on you or buffs on the mobs?

Make sure to slot a kismet proc into a defense power. And if your having difficulty hitting with a power that you have loaded to the gills with procs, maybe take one out and stick a Nucleus in there or such.

 

Also do you have the Alpha slot level shift? Otherwise you can also take an alpha or hybrid that boosts your accuracy if you need.

I do have the Kismet 6% accuracy.

 

Question, if you get the alpha level shift does that reflect in terms of mob level?  Like a 50 fighting 53s needs a certain amount of accuracy to hit the 95%.  

 

If you are 50(+1) vs a 53 does that change the requirement?

 

I went on the test server and tried out grabbing the 33% accuracy alpha and it helped.  I was still missing a bit, but no where near as bad.

Yeah, base hit chance changes based on the difference between you and your target. Check that table I linked. The base hit chance for the 50 attacking the 53 should be 48%. A 50+1 attacking a 53 should be 56% base hit chance, and that's part of why the level shift is so good. Your To-Hit buff from tactics gets directly added to that, then the total gets multiplied by accuracy. Without any to-hit modifiers or defense on the mob you're attacking, you would need roughly 1.69x accuracy to get a 95% hit chance from a base 56%. You can divide 95 by your to-hit to get an accuracy target number.

    Kismet needs to be  moved from Vengeance.  Most likely it's rarely effecting you as it's considered a proc 120.  It's only benefitting you when the power is active and for a 120 seconds after the power is no longer active or the power is toggled off.  So unless you are using Vengeance every 120 seconds or less there are probably lengthy periods where you gain no benefit.  

     In general if your To Hit portion is low raising your To Hit will be of greater benefit than boosting Accuracy further (multiplying a relatively lower value yields a relatively smaller value).  Try to get Kismet in a lower level choice.  Weave is your lowest placed defensive power.  For instance if Vengeance was a toggle you'd still only benefit when playing at or above 43rd when it could be toggled on and active.  Multiplying 39+15+6=60 >> 60 x 1.6 = 96%  or at that to hit Kismet jumps you from ~86% to 96% and is therefore the single best thing you can do to help your overall hit chance.  You are sitting right about the tipping point between hitting 95% and noticeably worse if foes start to to hit debuff you or acquire defense buffs for themselves.  Clumped up Cimerorans will become a major issue, for example, as they start buffing each others defense
