ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted April 11 Author Posted April 11 Still gotta get round to seeing this, but not sure I wanna trial yet another platform… WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND... HEY, GET YOUR OWN DAMN SIGNATURE. Look out for me being generally cool, stylish and funny (delete as applicable) on Excelsior.
Octogoat Posted April 14 Posted April 14 If you want an original dystopian scifi series based on an excellent book series look no further than Silo starring Rebecca Ferguson
InvaderStych Posted June 1 Posted June 1 This was well worth the watch ... ... The Pilot (and this trailer) barely scratch the surface. You see a mousetrap? I see free cheese and a f$%^ing challenge.
ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Quick one: if you have D+, check out Predator: Killer Of Killers. Three interlinked animated shorts (plus a finale) about what happens if you have to take down one of them and are tough, brave, smart and lucky enough to win. The animation style is fluid and elegant, similar to the Spiderverse movies. And while the core plot steps are still fairly predictable, it’s a hell of a step up on most of the recent entries (with the exception of the excellent Prey, which also gets a neat little callback.) Definitely worth a look. WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND... HEY, GET YOUR OWN DAMN SIGNATURE. Look out for me being generally cool, stylish and funny (delete as applicable) on Excelsior.
Oubliette_Red Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I found 'IF' to be a very fun movie. "What kind of kid creates an invisible IF?" Dislike certain sounds? Silence/Modify specific sounds. Looking for modified whole powerset sfx? Check out Michiyo's modder or Solerverse's thread. Got a punny character? You should share it.
Techwright Posted Monday at 12:49 AM Posted Monday at 12:49 AM (edited) Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead Tim Roth, Gary Oldman, Richard Dreyfuss: 'nough said. Fatalism at its funniest. The script is brilliant, the actors completely in tune with it, and the verbal badminton scene would have been worth the price of admission if it was all I saw. It does help to have seen the play Hamlet, since this "behind the scenes" story weaves in and out with the Shakespearean play as it unfolds. Edited Monday at 12:50 AM by Techwright
ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted Monday at 05:37 PM Author Posted Monday at 05:37 PM (edited) I've always enjoyed these, not least for Daniel Craig's wonderfully strange suthun-fried accents: but also a bit of old-school sleuthing. Knives Out didn't cheat either on the mystery, which I very much liked: Glass Onion did, but enjoyed it anyway. (Though I prefer the Poker Face series for the actual setup and solve. And while I'm aware a lot of this board might consider this sacrilege, I wish they'd given Thursday Murder Club's material and cast to Johnson instead of blasted Chris Columbus.) Yet again we have an all-star cast: Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, hot-priest-but-not-playing-one-here Andrew Scott... ...but giving the most work to The Crown's Josh O'Connor as Benoît's self-imposed, probably unwanted Watson. ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago There's not many trailers make me go "oooh, what the hell is this?" Spoiler So I'm fairly sold on this kind of movie just by having Mads in it. But I'm genuinely intrigued: is this an out and out fantasy movie, or - maybe better yet - a standard Leon: The Professional type plot, seen from the perspective of a traumatised kid a la American McGee's Alice...? Or something in between? WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND... HEY, GET YOUR OWN DAMN SIGNATURE. Look out for me being generally cool, stylish and funny (delete as applicable) on Excelsior.
