darkwolf Posted February 20 Posted February 20 It would be nice if most groups, if not all, could be scaled up to 50+ in the AE mission creator (i.e., lvl 50+ Hellions, Skulls, Trolls, etc.). For example, if you wanted to make a lvl 50 Croatoa mission, you can only use two factions. It is odd that the Cabal and Fir Bolg are scaled to 25-34, yet the Red Caps and Tuatha de Dannan are 1-54, when the former two are enemies of the latter two. In AE, Sky Raiders are set to 20-35; however, they appear in the Market Crash Trial at lvl 50+. Another thought would be to allow any character to appear as a non-combatant. For example, if you wanted to have a lvl 50 mission where you crash a meeting between OG AVs (i.e., 3K Kelvin, Odysseus, etc.), or one where you have to rescue them (i.e., Dr. Vahzilok, Frostfire, etc.). Thoughts? 1 1

The factions that don't already scale would have to have new mobs made for the group for each of the level ranges. (And Hellions, Skulls, and similar groups are only starter threats. They are basically the minions of the minions of another group. They barely qualify as small fry.) 20 minutes ago, darkwolf said: In AE, Sky Raiders are set to 20-35; however, they appear in the Market Crash Trial at lvl 50+. I can get behind adding the level 45+ versions of the Sky Raiders to AE. 20 minutes ago, darkwolf said: Another thought would be to allow any character to appear as a non-combatant. Easiest way to do this? Select them with the Ally advanced mission goal. Set the settings to None Selected for Surrounding Enemy Group, Ally Behavior to Nothing, Combat Abilities to Non Combat, and Betrays When to Does Not Betray.
Lockely Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Other servers have done this for AE specifically and the implementation is kinda janky even though it works. Homecoming seems to wish to avoid adding additional jank into the game, so our only real hope for this is for one of the devs to take this on as a pet project and spruce up the missing levels for these other enemy groups over time. 27 minutes ago, Rudra said: (And Hellions, Skulls, and similar groups are only starter threats. I'm working on a Praetoria mission right now and I'm stuck with everything being 1-24 because that's when base level Praetoria content stops. It's really hard to make mechanically engaging content for places and groups when you're stuck level-locked before you even get an ancillary power pool. By all means, tell stories about them. One of the best (relatively speaking) missions I did was an official mission that has your (level 40?) character go into a Skulls mission to save a starting hero. (Because it's really a Malta mission, but the map is full of Skulls that pretty much wet themselves when they see you and run away.)
Oubliette_Red Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I'm fairly certain that the mobs available in AE are limited to the same range as they are in the game. Creators would just need to create/expand upon the groups themselves. If they were willing to share them then I'm sure folks would be happy. 1 Dislike certain sounds? Silence/Modify specific sounds. Looking for modified whole powerset sfx? Check out Michiyo's modder or Solerverse's thread. Got a punny character? You should share it.

I know that there are also a few other groups which are scaled up for other missions as well, I just can't remember them offhand. 1 hour ago, Lockely said: Other servers have done this for AE specifically and the implementation is kinda janky even though it works. What about if the character models/skins were made available in the CC? I mean, there are already holiday costumes and the Prismatic Aether Particle costumes. This shouldn't be too difficult to implement. Then, anyone could create a custom group, modelled after low level factions, without the jank. It would take time, but for the mission architects out there, I think they wouldn't mind. 1
