The costume selection menu, the one that opens through Menu or K (this shortcut does not work for me either on its own or with Ctrl, Alt or Shift, by the way) offers a number of wonderful and unique emotes to accompany the change of costume. I never noticed that menu until recently, probably like many other people. (My favorite there is "Nuke.") But these emotes don't play when switching using the quick keys from Options, on the bottom of that screen, under Other. There are four places for quick keys to change between costumes 1-4, and I have found it convenient to assign the numbers 1-4 to them. Switching from the keyboard is much easier and more natural than going to the K screen, which besides blocks the view, but emotes don't play.

 

I request expanding the keys options to all 10 of the costumes and making it so that the switching uses the emote set up in K. Even better, you could show a drop-down menu of emote selection next to each costume, because while Dr. Jekyll might drink a concoction to turn into Mr. Hyde, he changes into an evening frock more simply. If that is too onerous, then mention in the same menu a way the player can suppress the change emotes. To avoid involving more keys, make it so, for instance, that holding down the right mouse button while switching disables the animation.

Or, you know, you can set up key binds and macros to do the same thing. Even using different costume change emotes for the same costume slot with different macros.

I use emotes to change costumes.

 

here's my costume tool box

 

Every 10 levels you can go to a different Icon rep for an additional costume slot : level 20 steel, level 30 IP, level 40 founders

You can get another costume slot with the four parts of halloween salvage by turning them into a vendor in Croatoa near the tram.

 

/macro name "cc #"

/macro name "cce # ccemote"

/macro IB  "cce # ccemote$$goto_tray 9"

/macro Super "cce # ccemote$$goto_tray 1"

 

name = name of your macro

cce # = slot # first slot is 0, second is 1, etc

I have those 4 basic costume emote structures.

The first two are for just changing the costume.

The last two are from switching from/to (IB) Innocent Bystander costume and a (Super) superhero costume. The (IB) Innocent Bystander macro also changes the active tray to a tray with generic powers; brawl, walk, etc. The (Super) hero macro also toggle the active tray to superhero powers.

 

So if you want to change into your first character slot - slot 0 - by being hit by lightning:

/macro Shzm "cce 0 cclightning"

 

Seems easy enough to make a marco and then click on the button to change costumes.

I usually have my costume changes in their own tray. In my normal tray layout, they are up to the upper right. I circled this characters costume change macros.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

First is 0, 3rd is 2. 2nd is 1. So for 10 active costume slots, slot numbers are (from costume selection screen layout):

Its easy to criticize a suggestion but can you suggest an alternative?

Not so much an issue when it's in the toolbox only I'm using.
