Troo
Here is a new power set I think I'll need some help with. I especially like the idea for my favs, Stalkers, but I think it could work for Brutes and Scrappers as well. While devices are the core of the sets function, potentially pairing it with a target status (blinded) to increase crits could be interesting. If folks haven't tried the Remote Bomb or Temporal Bomb they are pretty fun. These can be placed on Enemies or the floor and then manually detonated. The pool of existing powers to recycle is fairly large, Some form of Remote Bomb and Mass Levitate as capstones could be compelling. Some potential easy to repurpose powers could include melee and ranged powers just shorter distances. Ranged opportunities: Spoiler Devices Toxic Web Grenade 1 Ranged, Foe Immob, -Rech, -Fly Caltrops 1 Ranged (Location AoE), Minor DoT(Lethal), Foe -SPD Taser 4 Melee, Foe Disorient Targeting Drone 10 Toggle: Self +To-Hit, +DMG, +Perception, +Res(To-Hit Debuff) Smoke Grenade 16 Ranged (Targeted AoE), Foe -Perception, -To-Hit Field Operative 20 Toggle: Self Stealth, +DEF(All), +Special, +Regen, +Rec Trip Mine 24 Place Mine: PBAoE, Superior DMG(Lethal/Fire), Foe Knockback Time Bomb 28 Place Bomb: PBAoE, Extreme DMG(Lethal/Fire), Foe Knockback Gun Drone 30 Build Turret: Ranged, Moderate DMG(Lethal) Assault Rifle Burst 1 1 Ranged, Moderate DoT(Lethal), Foe -DEF Slug 1 1 Ranged, High DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockback Buckshot 2 4 Ranged (Cone), Moderate DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockback M30 Grenade 6 10 Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate DMG(Lethal/Smash), Foe Knockback Beanbag 8 16 Ranged, Minor DMG(Smash), Foe Disorient Sniper Rifle 12 20 Sniper, Extreme DMG(Lethal), Foe Knockback Flamethrower 18 24 Ranged (Cone), Extreme DoT(Fire) Ignite 22 28 Ranged (Targeted AoE), Moderate DoT(Fire) Full Auto 26 30 Ranged (Cone), Superior DoT(Lethal), +Special Melee opportunities: Spoiler Blinding Powder 28 Ranged (Cone), Foe Sleep, Confuse, -To Hit, -Perception Quick Strike 1 Melee, Light DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe -DMG, Knockdown Body Blow 1 Melee, Moderate DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe Disorient Smashing Blow 2 Melee, High DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe Disorient Slash 2 Melee, Moderate DMG(Lethal), Foe -DEF(All) Ice Patch 8 Location (PBAoE), Foe Knockdown Build Up 6 Self +DMG, +To-Hit Incinerate 8 Melee, High DoT(Fire) Parry 8 Melee, Minor DMG(Lethal), Self +DEF(Lethal, Melee) Chain Induction 18 Melee, Moderate DMG(Smash/Energy), Foe -End, +Special Mass Levitate but with a device (maybe ground punch animation) and without the Insite lameness. gabrilend
Mass Levitate could use a similar graphic as the AoE shield bubble that forcefield support characters get. Ideally with an recolored effect. Call it a "selective anti-gravity field generator" or something like that I see you have slash and parry, but also quick strike - quick strike is a punch, right? While slash and parry use weapons. Would this powerset have a costume weapon included? If so, which kind? I'm also a fan of the tazer origin power that characters start with, that could be an option for a short-range ranged attack. Could fit with the melee theme if you make it short enough range, maybe recolor it to be yellow/blue by default instead of white?

Another way to go was just sticky bombs, traps, devices. A big lumbering bomb maker who would just attach on to an enemy and watch it go boom so he could . A nimble ninja who could dodge attacks while planting explosives, lighting stuff on fire and tasering. Shin Magmus
Sir, be real. This dev team would call it Arsenal Melee. It would have punches that only deal damage on If:Then statements. If: T1 applied its mag 2 stun 60% chance, Then: target is wet gadgetized for 5s. The T9 attack deals no damage unless the target is gadgetized first. Also 3 of the attacks have organge circles and 1 of them doesn't work at all vs AVs. Send it. 1 2 Treating everyone fairly is great; unfair discrimination is badwrong! A.I.D.A.
Because what we really need is an arse melee. Apparently. Maybe it'll even be a wet arse melee. Edited April 21 by A.I.D.A.
Troo
Okay @Shin Magmus, well, that would be no bueno. You have definitely nailed an example of what would make me trooly sad. Shin Magmus
But wait, there's more. Chance for Beanbag on every attack. When you land 3 Beanbags in quick succession, you entered BEANED UP state. This increases the chance to Gadgetize on all attacks by 5%. Whoooo Traps Arsenal Melee goooo! 2 Treating everyone fairly is great; unfair discrimination is badwrong! Maybe a Beanbag powerset might finally evacuate the beanbag blockage from Assault Rifle? ..It only takes one Beanbag fan saying that they JRANGER it for the devs to revert it. A.I.D.A.
Unfortunately, if you double-stack BEANED UP by landing another set of 3 Beanbags before the buff runs out, then you constantly emit Rikti Monkey PBAoE gas. Also the T9 attack has a crash, and it crashes you whether it deals damage or not. Edited April 21 by A.I.D.A.

That's the internal (and original) name of "Devices". Could lead to confusion. Remember! Let's be careful out there! Troo
I think I'm gonna stick with 'Gadgets', great name for a new power set.
