kelika2 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Lets say I have Offensive Adaptation on and I use Flamethrower. is toxic damage added per tick or just upfront? really torn between rifle/bio or rifle/fire
FupDup Posted May 17 Posted May 17 I don't know how the DoTs work with Bio, but I do know that Rifle just has higher synergy with Bio in general because Fire is a set that wants to be in the middle of melee for its PBAOEs while AR wants to stay at range due to all of its cones. Bio even comes with a range boost to help the cones reach further, and is just far more durable and punchier in general. .
Uun Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Since the additional damage is determined based on the power's recharge and area factor, I believe it's all upfront. [MagExpr] points of Toxic damage (all affected targets) Magnitude Expression: 15.293 * (0.16 * minmax(power.base>rechargetime, 0, 20) + 0.36) / power.base>areafactor Uuniverse
Moridus Posted May 17 Posted May 17 While my experience is not specific to Sentinels (yet), I can say for certain that the Toxic damage is frontloaded on Stalkers - The Ice/Bio Stalker I was noodling around with definitely hits everything on the first tick of Frost and Freezing Touch.
Luminara Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Any DoT which is a % Chance of <# Damage> every Xs over Y duration is treated as a single hit. Procs and bonus damage from powers like Offensive Adaptation or Envenomed Blades only applies the extra damage on the initial activation of the power. Any DoT which checks to hit with every tick can apply extra damage on every tick. Rains, patches, PBAoE toggles, things of that nature. Flamethrower is the former. If you're going to get a damage bonus, it'll happen once, at the beginning. 1 Get busy living... or get busy dying. That's goddamn right.
