lemming Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 (edited) So, this is the data, schema, and menu with many locations listed. Placing the popmenu labhunt.mnu in your <Path to Homecoming directory>/data/texts/English/menus You do not have to rename to labhunt.mnu, but make sure you don't have various versions in the directory since the game works off the menu name, not the file name and if there are more than one, I'm not sure which one will be the active one. Doors are based on clusters, since most doors in one area go to the same location. Most floors have four doors leading to other floors, and two randomizer doors. However, that's not always the case. There's a few things I'll probably change on how it's organized, and I'm currently working on a program to spit out a menu, so I just work off the data. Will be updating the files as they get updated. (And heck, may get my git updated) I'm still needing the drop locations into a couple of the violet floors (suspect that's where they are) Gladiators and Fogs: 115 & 196 of those two documented, and there are 200 locations for each. Upcoming plans: Easier routes to Motes, Secrets, and some of the other locations such as the Mino exits labeled. More updates, though I just learned that there are 20 fogs at a time in existence, not 12 as previously thought. Just added a bunch more Fog locations, courtesy of Tidbit. Locations added by them have a TB on the end. DR on the end means the Demorecord listed location. A bunch more locations narrowed down. Found a couple locations which were recorded on the wrong floor. lab_schema lablocations_2024123102.csv labhunt_2024123102.mnu Edited yesterday at 04:16 AM by lemming Dec 31 data 4 1

lemming Posted August 15, 2024 Author Posted August 15, 2024 Over 50% of gladiators found. Up to 40% Fog
lemming Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Locations updated: Fogs Found: 94 Gladiators: 104 Slight reworking of stuff. Will probably make the Blue Council Fog block a submenu, just to separate those 15 locations. 1 1
lemming Posted September 15, 2024 Author Posted September 15, 2024 Updated with Beta info, so Orange Council locations got changed a bit, but now with a secret! Fogs: 99, Gladiators: 106 (slowly creeping up there) 1
lemming Posted September 20, 2024 Author Posted September 20, 2024 Fogs now at 104, Gladiators at 106. So, slightly over 1/2 locations found.
Ukase Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 This is a LOT of information packed into a popmenu! Just the utility of the motes is super handy! I appreciate your going to the trouble. Thanks for sharing it. 1
Ukase Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 In case anyone was curious about this gladiator pet, here's what it looks like: I was taking an alt through there to get the motes, so I don't have to be a burden on the speedy lab runs, and can just focus on fogs and ran right into him. Didn't really get to make much use of him, as it was just an exploring/badge run. 1 1

Diligence to return to a conversation with an answer or helpful information for internet-troll-browsers and their search-fu skills is commendable. I was curious myself. Thank you!

So, I was a bit curious about this. But not in a good way, I'm afraid. I find that during the "speedy labyrinth" runs, sometimes, I find fogs fairly easily, just by literally taking random doors. And sometimes, this comes up empty. I'll be on a league of roughly 28-32 folks, and we'll get the level shifts fairly quickly. But I'll feel like a free-loader, because at most I find 1 or 2. I've tried using these fog /locs you have, but most of the time, nothing is there. I get that their placement is random. But do we know how many fogs are present at one time? Do we know if it depends on the number of players in zone? You've done an incredible amount of work on this pop-menu, and rather than pester Cobalt, figured I'd just ask here. It would be nice to just zip around and have a good hunch where they'll be, as opposed to relying on RNG/luck.

It would be nice to just zip around and have a good hunch where they'll be, as opposed to relying on RNG/luck. According to Cobalt, there are twelve Fogs in play at all times. When one is defeated, they tend to spawn on a harder floor, so they will tend to group toward Violet, but I don't know what the RNG weight is on that. And with 200 spots open, with Fogs also able to share spots, it is a hunt. I find the best route is head towards the Blue Floor Council floor and check the prison. Fifteen spots just there and there are quite a few other spots on that floor. I tend to find more after that by hitting a random door and just dropping thru the closest ones to the drop points. Also, no fogs on Orange floors. The other bit of info is that the Fogs do not regen and this persists across Mino resets. p.s. I need to release another set. I haven't gone into the lab lately, but have picked up a few more of those spots. 1
Ukase Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Only 12 at a time, then finding 1 or 2 in that place isn't that bad. Thanks!

Apparently this got bumped up to 20. So far, 127 Fog locations found. And we are up to 21 confirmed locations on the Blue Council floor. (I suspect at least thee more to find there) 2
lemming Posted December 27, 2024 Author Posted December 27, 2024 Tidbit gave me a bunch more fog locations that I added in after checking for dupes. I've also started doing more demorecord runs to lock down the initial spawn points which are a little off from where I had them since I wasn't perfectly centered, etc... See first post for update
lemming Posted yesterday at 04:33 AM Author Posted yesterday at 04:33 AM Found a few more items to add. Demorecord is good for locating the Fogs and gladiator spawn points. Especially the ones in small alcoves. (Or one that is in the ceiling of the Green Lab) Also found a couple inaccurate locations that were actually on different floors. (Or one door that I got the location of its destination...)
Frozen Burn Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Hey @lemming. Thanks for putting this all together. I downloaded it and loaded it in, but it seems to only partially work for me. Some of the items when selected, I get a waypoint at each door that leads me to the objective (like some of the motes - not all) - this is perfect! But a lot of the other things, like all the plaques, I just get a way point that's ~1.5 mi away and nothing indicating which doors to take to get there. Any idea if this is something with the game, my install, or what? It'd be great to get the way point to lead me through the appropriate doors instead of just some random point off in the distance. Edited 14 hours ago by Frozen Burn Filthy typos!

Plaques are all in the Core, so if you're not in there, it won't give a decent path. And if something is on the Orange Floors, it will path thru the Cow Door.
