Beam Rifle/Marine?

I've been toying with a few different ATs and combinations to use with marine affinity, and was wondering if anyone has extensive experience with beam rifle on corruptors?  It's like the only weapon set that I haven't gotten to 50, and now seems as good a time as any, what with the new marine affinity set.  I'd love to hear your thoughts or opinions.  Cheers!

My favorite corruptor is a Beam/Traps.  I don't know if I'm an expert in the set, but I've got some good experience.

 

Biggest thing to remember is that Lancer Shot has a 100% chance to spread disintegration, so my first attack (when not nuking) would be Disintegrate followed by lancer followed by the cone attack.  That combo brings some extra damage to BR's otherwise lacking AoE potential.

 

I personally like the narrow cone attack as a ST attack, it provides -res, though admittedly, it has a bit of a wind up.

Thanks!  Do you happen to know if the BR powers can trigger disintegration AND scourge at the same time?  Thanks again!

Yes, disintegration and scourge are tracked separately, so they can both trigger at the same time.

I'm at level 21 with a Beam Marine now - and it's been fun. Granted, I've brought this thread back from a recent death, but folks may want to know the two work well enough together to suit me. It's still early yet, but so far, it's fun. 

And, I was doing it as a drop challenge. But I felt discouraged because I wasn't getting the right salvage to utilize some good recipes I got (like a kismet and a glad armor). I was getting the converters, but old habits die hard. I'd thought about burning merits for random salvage as a bit of a cheat, and still use the drop challenge rules, but when I got 8 of 12 Symbiotic Armors...I said screw it. That's enough wasted merits. Now that I've decked it out in the better enhancements, it's more fun. But, if anyone else is crazy, the marine secondary is fantastic for drop challenge efforts. But you will want to do the dfb for the recovery boost.
