How do I install Mids on my Mac?

Hello!

 

I have downloaded the Mac version of Mids, however when trying to install it I get the popup error "Mids Reborn can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software."

 

Does anybody know a way around this?

I moved your post to the "Tools, Utilities, & Downloads" section as that's where the Mids threads are. 

 

Also, let me see if I can summon our Mac Genie, @Manga, to see if he has an answer.

Looks like this would be the place to go for Mids now as they appear to have a Discord and everything. I don't think that Manga has any ties to that project, but they Are generally a Mac Guru overall.

Manga actually made a wrapper for Mids to run on Mac, it's linked on his website which it sounds like shmurtypants is already using.  These steps should resolve your issue: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/apple-cant-check-app-for-malicious-software-mchleab3a043/mac

 

And just in case you're NOT using Manga's wrapper: https://launchcat.powermadsoftware.com/ Make sure to follow the install instructions, as it's not as simple as installing a normal Mac program.

Thank you both! I have now successfully installed it 🙂

 

But for some reason I can't add slots on my build. I've selected all the powers and now it's not letting me add slots. Am I doing something wrong or could there be a bug in the app for Mac?

The first thing that comes to mind is this here:

I suspect its on 'power only' and all you gotta do is click it and it'll change to 'power/slot' and you should be good to go.

 

I tested some other things real quickly and thats the only thing I could find that would stop you from placing slots.
