Gerswin Posted October 8 Posted October 8 100 Prismatic Aethers - Effect Suppression costume This "costume" suppresses all effects on the character, including stealth, ice shields, shadow fall, etc. The way the character looks is never changed, regardless of how they are buffed. Their hands never glow, and all of their animations are performed without any particle effects. 6 1
Laucianna Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Love this idea but personally would rather see it as a free option from either the START vendor or Null 💛 3 1 ❤️ Kheldian Guide ❤️ 🎖️ Friday Fashion Contest 🎖️ 🗒️Character Wiki🗒️Friendly reminder that no matter what anyone or anything is saying, you ARE loved AND valued in life no matter what.
Greycat Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I don't know if it would technically work, since you're trying to suppress powers that aren't yours. I'd *suspect* either undoable or technically a serious mess (since I'd imagine - sort of like customizing Incarnate powers, where it lists every single tier whether you have it or not, you'd have to do that for *every single power in the game that might affect you,* even if you don't see that list - save something's power customization that has Incarnate files, then look at the power customizations listed in that list.) I'd also imagine it'd be annoying on teams, where a buffer won't be able to tell if you're buffed with a quick glance (yes, there are icons. Yes, especially late game, they get completely lost.) Also, how would it interact with things like the redside Midnighter mission, Freakshow costume mission, redside Midnighter mission, etc. where you have to take on something else's appearance? Since I can see people completely forgetting they have this and putting in support tickets reporting it as "bugged" if it's suppressed. I'm not *against* it, to be clear, though I'd never use it. I just think there are questions on what it can or can't do as well as potentially technical hurdles. Owl Girl Posted October 8 Posted October 8 sorta related, is there some way to alter the way emotes work so that they aren't interrupted by other people's powers? or at least non-damaging ones? i see the occasional complaint when my frisbee interrupts someone's dancing... g_d's lil' monster ❤️
Rudra Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) 6 minutes ago, Owl Girl said: sorta related, is there some way to alter the way emotes work so that they aren't interrupted by other people's powers? or at least non-damaging ones? i see the occasional complaint when my frisbee interrupts someone's dancing... *shrug* My response if someone uses the Flying Disc power on my character when I have an emote going is to re-apply the emote and delete the temp power. (Edit: Yep, I'm a mean and inconsiderate player. Not giving that power back.) That said, if it was possible to not have a player's character's currently active emote not be disrupted by the application of a buff from another player's character? I would welcome that. I don't think that is possible though since those buffs, the frisbee, and the snowball have assigned animations they are required to apply to show those powers have been used just like hitting a (non-held) enemy has to have the appropriate animations applied when affected by player character powers. Owl Girl Posted October 8 Posted October 8 personally i am always thrilled when someone interrupts my /em crouch on a lamppost to start a snowball fight, but i have been told that i am a Strange Bird. g_d's lil' monster ❤️
General Idiot Posted October 10 Posted October 10 (edited) The function you're looking for already exists in the form of a slash command. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/SuppressCloseFxDist_(Slash_Command) Won't do anything for emotes like Owl Girl was asking and i dont think it suppresses the transparency effect from stealth powers, but it should serve for hiding toggle effects and buffs like ice shields. Though it's worth noting other players will still be able to see them. Edited October 10 by General Idiot 1 When life gives you lemonade, make lemons. Life will be all like "What?"
