Wow! Got spicy in here!

I would like to point out that fully-enhanced HoT in unrelenting is on par with Instant Healing from Regen. 1000%+ regeneration is ~%4.2 health per second if my math is correct. On top of that, Alpha Incarante's will affect it to a greater effect to Unrelenting than Instant Healing due to the unenhanceable regen component. AND Unrelenting can be boosted by -res(toHeal), +healEffects (powerboost, Clarion, Bloom from Nature Affinity). I abuse it on my /energy blaster. It is quite potent for that alone, disregarding the other/alternate effects.

Unrelenting was never *only* a self rez. Everything it does, it always did. It's also bad as a self rez because it doesn't give you untouchable, so in many cases in which you'd use it, you'll just die again. Then your really cool, long recharge power is down and you're dead. Again.

Yes, it was. No one took it. When the other rezzes got Untouchable added to them, Unrelenting did not. Players complained. Unrelenting was changed to how it is now. So while it still isn't a good rez, unless you're safe enough from enemy attacks to use it, it became a solid HoT with offense buff.

Unrelenting was added in Issue 24 and never made it to live, as I24 was only in beta. And the only change Unrelenting got from I24 beta to now is removing the part that negates the crash on powers that do so.

I remember using it back on Live. Maybe I am misremembering, but I do remember it being active back on Live. When the power pools were expanded to 5 powers each.

It would have been on live, just on test server, which I24's was around forever because they never actually patched the normal client with it (though I24 was done for a few months IIRC).

But either way, adding untouchable to unrelenting would be very welcome. My personal opinion is that it's not generally worth taking because the opportunity cost for it is too high, and so I would like to see some adjustments to the presence pool.

I wouldn't complain.

Thanks for stating it is your personal opinion. Because I find Unrelenting to be a great power pick. (Just a difficult one to fit in.)

I24 was actually partially on Live before shutdown. For instance, the nukes stopped causing crashes even on the Live server for a couple months before the game shut down. (Odds are, the devs just threw a partial update before shut down so we could play with some of the arriving toys before the game went away.) I24 never went Live itself, but parts of it did pop up in the game before the shutdown.

If anyone has ever had the self rez component of Unrelenting work please post in this topic confirming it right now

i really like Presence for concept reasons and i can promise that the self-rez component works. it's just that if it's used in a bad spot then you're just gonna die right away. it's ofc much better to use it before actually getting knocked out...

I would go on to say it is better to use when you are at 1/2 health, because if you get down below 1/4 health, it is unlikely to save you from falling in combat.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

To be perfectly fair, that depends entirely on the character. My brutes for instance, I don't use Unrelenting until they are at 1/4 health or around that point. And they usually get back to full health before I finish deleting my adversaries.

Do not use without proper consultation. Use only as directed. Result may vary. Visit our website for full list of possible side effects.
