Techwright
Passed by a poster promoting a regional Comic-con today, and it gave me a crazy idea: a mission or mission arc for a comic-con-like event in Paragon City. Use the combat arena hallway map (the full 360) as the mission's booth and sales area, and the internal doors as leads to convention rooms to meet stars. It could be fun to put a lot of cameos both in the convention rooms and signing autographs on the sales floor. It could be the perfect opportunity to have a bit of crossover fun with the theater movie posters (think rooms with the actors taking questions), and somehow work the Summer Blockbuster into one of the discussions. Cameos could be established characters in the game, or parodies on real world characters and folks. Do a little elbow-nudge chuckle with our bovine super groups friends with the announcement of a "live action" College-Age Cloned Paladin Oxen movie. That sort of stuff. Possible mission access: unlocks with the purchase of your first prismatic aether costume. Initially you'll be sent in undercover and will need a cosplay as your disguise. Your prismatic aether costume should be it. Though once all insanity breaks loose on the show floor, it should no longer be necessary. As I said, just a crazy idea.

Vanden
I made a mission like that in AE back before shutdown. IIRC the concept was the Clockwork were attacking in order to steal cosplayers' costumes to make stronger clockwork, apparently not realizing that most costumes are made out of things like foam and light plastics, as opposed to the cutting-edge alloys and metamaterials used in proper superhero attire. It was mostly an excuse to put in a bunch of hostages dressed like characters from other media. The arena lobby would've been a great map to set it on. I had to settle for a typical warehouse, and claim that the main convention hall had emptied out by the time of your arrival and everyone left was in the back hallways. This reminded me of the mission you get from Steven Sheridan to appear at a science-fiction convention, which prompted me back on Live to suggest that there be 'update on entry' mission goals. The dialog with Sheridan is about appearing at the con, but as soon as you accept the mission, the mission goal in your nav window is "defeat all villains in building". Now, you know that, when you accept the mission, it's not going to go down as neatly as your contact describes, but it would at least increase the immersion to have the mission goal match what your contact describes it as until you enter the mission, at which point the goal changes to the actual mission goal. At least that mission got updated so that Sheridan no longer always sends you Crey's Folly, a hazard zone, to attend a 'science fiction convention' -- no, that wasn't suspicious at all...
