Col. Kernel Posted January 6 Posted January 6 When I'm on my Stalker in particular Core Melee toggles (no taunt, that's on Radial) alter foes, ruining my Assassin's Strike. Looking at City of Data is appears that all Hybrid toggles alert foes. Is that working as intended?
Rudra Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Should be. Just don't have your Hybrid toggle turned on when you are trying to sneak and assassinate.
Hedgefund Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) It's just hybrid melee that alerts, even the ones that don't taunt. The other hybrids, like Assault, do not alert. It's got something to do with how the bonus per mob nearby works. Edited January 6 by Hedgefund
Kai Moon Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Why should nothing happening to a target alert the target? Game mechanics should be intuitive unless there's a good reason otherwise. This reminds me of [Positioning] - a kludgy power that interrupts and de-stealths players despite having no effect on players. Players expect no effect to mean no effect, but there's a code quirk that alerts targets to nothing happening. Fortunately, the "notify mobs" flag to get around that code quirk already exists. Seems like a good use for that flag. (On that tangent, do the non-taunting melee hybrid powers interrupt or de-stealth mobs? That could be a minor exploit.)
Wavicle Posted January 8 Posted January 8 The power is using the mobs to strengthen you. That is something done to them. That's why it alerts. The fact there is no debuff, control, or damage is irrelevant. Wavicle's Guide To What Really Matters: What Needs To Be Done On Every Toon
