Power Descriptions & Visuals:

  • Energy Surge: Fires a small burst of energy at a foe, dealing minor damage with a chance to stun. Visual: A brief pulse of blue energy, similar to a small shockwave.

  • Kinetic Pulse: A melee strike infused with energy, knocking foes backward. Visual: A glowing energy ring expanding outward on impact.

  • Energy Barrier: Encases the user in a shimmering energy shield that absorbs incoming damage. Visual: A transparent blue sphere forming around the user, 

  • Ion Disruptor: Releases a cone of charged particles that disorients enemies. Visual: Multiple vertical energy beams flashing in a cone in front of the caster.

  • Plasma Conduit: Generates a field of plasma energy that slowly restores health. Visual: Energy tendrils forming around allies, like glowing wisps.

  • Electrostatic Field: Slows down enemies in an area while dealing minor energy damage over time. Visual: A circular field of flickering blue energy,

  • Singularity Collapse: Creates a powerful explosion, dealing high damage and knocking enemies down. Visual: A swirling mass of energy forming before exploding outward.

  • Hyperflux Shield: Amplifies energy defenses for the user and nearby allies. (Visual: A glowing dome of energy covering allies temporarily, 

  • Energy Rift: Opens a dimensional rift, summoning an energy clone that confuses enemies. (Visual: A swirling energy portal,

Was expecting an actual control set wing king 😞
 

This appears to be an unprecedented 50/50 combination of a blast set and a support set. Who would even get access to this set? Did ChatGPT do this one too?

I think what arcane is trying to say is "it's hard to pick out what type of control your proposed Energy Control set specializes in".

 

Question: What do you want it to be really good at?

 

The Wind set below has so many types of controls but it does have some specialties. The Darkness set has more obvious specialties in -tohit backed by imob, & hold.

Please feel free to show me otherwise as I don't typically play Controllers, but I am not aware of control sets including armor powers ([Energy Barrier, level 2, Self, Absorb DMG (Energy), Minor Defense Buff] & [Hyperflux Shield, level 22, Self & Allies, Major Energy Resistance Buff]) and heal powers [Plasma Conduit, level 8, Toggle: Self & Ally Heal over Time (Energy-Based)]. This looks more like a combined support/blast set to me.

So where are all the… types of powers typical of a control set? We can start with no single target hold and no AoE hold, though there are several other sources of confusion here.

Control in this game consists of status effects. You've got no holds, no immobilizes, no sleeps, no confuses, no fears. One chance of stun, one slow and some knockback/down. This is NOT a control set. You've got a melee attack, an absorb shield, a resistance shield, a heal and a tohit debuff. Sounds a lot more like a support set (defender primary / corruptor, controller, mastermind secondary).

Ha! I missed the melee attack in the pack. Thanks for pointing that out. So it isn't a hybrid support/blast set, it's an everything but control set.

Everything is ranged damage so no there is no melee attacks and all are control abilities.

There is no such thing as ranged damage or melee damage. There are ranged attacks and melee attacks and AoE attacks. And your kinetic pulse is a melee strike.

 

Edit: Hells, you should probably go back and finish your edit. You still show 3 support powers. (The two shields and the heal.)

If you're going to go back a day later and edit your original post to change all the powers, it's bad form to call out people's comments to the original post. You were pretty sloppy about it, as now the short names and descriptions don't match the longer ones.
