I was hoping for a Player Buff change. If enabled, it will be impossible to buff a player that's not on your team.

IIRC, the OP was upset because they felt that "drive by" buffing was affecting their data parsing. I can recognize how this circumstance could be seen as a negative, but I find the request bordering on absurdity, especially with respect to "I want to stand by Ms. Liberty in peace!"...

1. There is no shortage of other trainers, and there is a second trainer in Atlas Park. You can install a trainer in a SG base.
2. At low-levels, I don't understand the desire for parsing logs
   • The game is applying scaling boosts
   • There are few powers, with few slots
   • XP will bring levels, which also changes scaling
3. It's incredibly easy to delete an unwanted buff, or to just play content "behind closed/instanced doors"
4. If the data parsing is in "open world", I also don't want to hear about "kill stealing" or "stop debuffing my targets!"

I don't do script-based data-mining, but I do try to remember to activate the "deny Mystic Fortune on myself"... frequently whatever I have been "gifted" doesn't matter, but there are a few circumstances where it has made a character's performance 'uneven enough' that I've come to not like it.

I think this is a high priority issue since at its core, it's about consent. I think it is extremely important that we have tools to enforce and withdraw our consent, especially givem how boldly vocal these people are about us NOT having those tools.

Are you really going with “consent” as your reason in an MMO?

 

I would argue that in a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER  game, you give consent for others to interact with you simply by logging on.

 

Drive-By-Buffing is more akin to a stranger saying “Hi” to you on the street than someone touching you.  Would you scream “I DIDN’T CONSENT” if you were on a walk and someone said “Good Morning” to you?

 

I generally don’t talk about my real self in game world, but here we go.  I have multiple anxiety disorders including agoraphobia, which can be so severe that at times playing this game solo is too much interaction with people for me to handle.  And I still think you’re going too far.

But I also went back and hid a bunch of posts.  Let's leave the mental health diagnoses to the professionals.  Calling other posters insane, sociopaths, or other similar labels is not acceptable.  Some otherwise non-offending posts were removed because they quoted an offending one.
