Can I do these missions on Oro then choose different sides by redoing the story arcs? I want to play through all the options and change my choices by doing the story arcs again and again. Will I be locked to my choices once I complete the arcs once. Also I did see some folk say that you get locked out of certain arcs if you accidentally complete some higher level arc. How can I avoid all this to experience the full extent of the Praetorian arcs.

I have like 29 characters and I even have done Praetoria by rolling there 5 times but when I am playing one character at a time I do enjoy doing as many badges as possible on them.

I don't think its an obsession rather a goal to make my game fun.

Here's a guide to Praetoria on how to complete all the contacts' arcs in all the zones on a new Praetorian Toon.

Here's a command to make a macro to toggle XP off and on.

/macros oXP "optiontoggle noxp"

If you have access to an SG Base with a Pillar of Ice and Flame, a Goldside Toon can use it to run Flashback missions and arcs in Praetoria by...well, definitely by Level 20, maybe earlier.

But the Moral Choices in a Flashback mission aren't permanent, though they do count for the Praetorian Accomplishment Badges.

Anything other than casual play borders very close to or very plainly is obsession.

Badge collecting? Obsession

Level 50 goal? Obsession

All the content? Obsession

Farming? Obsession

Multiple similarly named characters with different AT/power combinations to represent one character having many forms or more powers? Obsession

Costume contests? Obsession

Base building beyond basic functionality? Obsession

Level to 50 and avoiding debt? Obsession

Accumulating perma-debt to stave off level 50 as long as possible? Obsession

Trying to get upskirt pics of Ms Liberty? Obsession

Clearing the fog of war on every map without using the Reveal power? Obsession

Defeating every foe on a map all the time even when the mission is not a Defeat All? Obsession

Look, there's nothing wrong with your chosen obsessions. I'm just saying that I don't understand some of them.

Yes, you can.  After each arc is complete, you return to your normal Primal self so your Resistance or Loyalist designation does not stick.  Although, you do get credit towards badges.  So, no, you are not locked into choices like you would if running as a lowbie in Praetoria itself.  And yes, if you are running the arcs through Praetoria, you can lock yourself out of arcs as some choices will kill off contacts and you can't then do them later.  But by running through Ouro, you don't have that issue as everything is a "flashback."

However, the best way to run the arcs is via a couple different characters.  You can via 1 character, but it's a little cumbersome and you will definitely have to turn off earning XP at times so you don't out level contacts.  But it's still more immersive to run them at level through Praetoria than to run them all as a flashback through Ouro.

Good luck and have fun!

Obsession has a specific meaning in that it means you are fixated, consumed and very aggressively trying to complete your need of some objective. I am far from that being 70+ I play very little and am only working towards these goals like may be once a week. If I did this all the time daily then you might say this. I play like many toons and I rotate them. I have many other hobbies too.

So I am clearly not obsessed. You should check what the word means before you use it. I don't think it is wrong or unattractive but is definitely not so in my case. Also I don't see why you need to pursue this like you know me personally and my goals. There is no need to come to a thread I created and just say I am obsessive when you have no idea how many hours I play or what my objectives or goals are.

It is also a  tad rude to assume everyone plays like you , even if you do not understand it there is no need to categorize and label my behaviour.

Thank you to the people who actually helped and answered my question.

I never assumed anyone plays like me. I said that the way I try to experience all content is to spread it around on different characters and that I don't understand the people who are obsessed.

Merriam-Webster definition of obsession:  a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or feeling broadly : compelling motivation

That seems to define a good deal of people who go out of their way to pack as much content experience into a single character as possible. There are different levels of obsession, from mild to all-consuming. It's also a tad rude of you to assume that someone doesn't know the definition of a word just because they used it in a way that you're not happy or comfortable with.

I think you just proved my point. That definition indicates there is no such thing as mild. Yet you seem to think there is such a thing as mildly obsessive.  You do not understand the word and you used it to describe a person you do not know. So I was not wrong about your comprehension.

I understand this - but I would advise trying it on different toons initially.

You're setting yourself a seriously big, complex task and you'll literally need spread sheets and stuff to keep track

One of my favorite ways to experience all content is to have multiple characters. I'll never understand the obsession to do as much as possible on a single character.

That's why this works.

That said, there's no harm in setting yourself a near impossible challenge, so go for it but don't expect to ace it on one fell swoop.

If I were fool/crazy/obsessive/dedicated enough I'd do each significant arc on a new character, and track progress with spreadsheets etc.

Then I'd work out where I needed to make it all join in one and...

but no, that's not for me. I admire your dedication. Good luck!

I neither know, nor care, what the difference between ignorance and apathy is

Sure thing I will probably run screaming the first time I try it. It is just that I made those 5 toons so long ago I have only a vague memory of what I chose then. If I cannot do it I will drop the idea in a heartbeat. I think that guide is extremely helpful and locking my experience can help too. I read through it and will follow it. I must commend Redlynne for working it out so meticulously.

I do think there is such a thing as mildly obsessive, just like some people can be mildly insane or mildly murderous or mildly satisfied.

I do understand the word, but I think you lack imagination and perceive things as all or nothing extremes.

Are we done making broad judgements of each other's ability to comprehend ideas?
