ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted Wednesday at 11:09 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:09 AM (edited) Iceman. Chris Knight. Doc Holliday. Nick Rivers. Jim Morrison. Ray LeVol. Mad Martigan, Greatest Swordsman Of All Time. And Chris Shiherlis, Greatest Ponytail Of All Time. So, so many iconic roles, it's hard to choose just one. I object slightly to the portrayal of him as "difficult" - just a bit opinionated, and sometimes went a bit Method. But apparently an absolute gentleman to most folks in the cast and crew. Just not directors. (Which you can't say about a number of actors, such as Tom Sizemore - who was a source of much of those comments: Kilmer disliking him seems just to show good taste. Pairing him with Brando was just asking for trouble, FFS: and filming Dr Moreau was a terrible idea to start with.) Wishing him a blessed journey to the land of beautiful souls. Kilmer was robbed, ROBBED of an Oscar, even an Oscar nod, for Doc Holliday. That may just be the greatest western performance of all time. Mad Martigan was just a lot of crazy fun. While I do think he was miscast for Batman, or rather, for that campy movie (he probably would have made a great Batman in a serious film) I do appreciate his effort. I loved how he embraced his physical troubles and used them to add great depth to Iceman in the second Top Gun film. Sorry to hear he's not among us anymore. I'd always hope for a reversal of his physical misfortunes and a return to the powerhouse roles. 4 1
ThaOGDreamWeaver Posted Wednesday at 11:12 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:12 PM (edited) From the get-go, Val was one hell of an actor. And his very first movie out there, playing with his classic 50s heartthrob looks, was a baptism of… …well, definitely some kind of baptism. …seriously, the physicality it takes to pull this scene off is one thing, but making it FUNNY as well… EDIT: also, I wouldn’t know if this kinda thing would work for you all the time. But if you’re casting for crazy… crazy works. Edited yesterday at 06:04 AM by ThaOGDreamWeaver WAKE UP YA MISCREANTS AND... HEY, GET YOUR OWN DAMN SIGNATURE.
