Staying logged in for long afk activities

I have 2 gaming accounts on CoH. I used to be able to log into the two different accounts, the same server, two different characters, and be able to play them together. Usually for some kind of extra work for one of the characters -- like getting some progress in one of the character's "stand in fire" achievement badges.

 

It's been quite a while since I've done this. I'm finding that just grouping and standing outside St. Martial fires in the right spot isn't keeping me logged in and my characters seem to log out eventually. I thought there was some way I could still stay alive while standing outdoors, but can't figure it out any more. Is there some way to do that? Or is there some other way like taking a specific indoor mission where timing out doesn't take effect any more?

if you in a base, or on an AE mission.  

 

when i badge the entire location maps with a level 1.  and i have.  i sidekick to a 50 who sits in the base

Start a respec? I don't think it boots you if you're respecing.
