Claws for dominators

Replace taunt with power build up.. maybe? But leave some form of follow up.

Aren't Dominator secondaries tied to one of their available primaries? IE: Wouldn't a Claws assault require a Claws control primary to be available?

I think the crickets are because anyone that enjoys playing doms seeing a suggestion for an assault set not being whips makes them sad and unresponsive.

No dominator assault set has aim. 

 

But yes, getting both follow up and power build up is unlikely. I'd prefer follow up, for variety spice reasons.

 

Maybe taunt/confront could get replaced with a ranged single target immob like subdue or the one in thorny assault.

You'd need at least 1 more ranged attack;  Maybe use that cone that Widows get, and possibly the single ranged dart attack?  As for power boost or the like - maybe tweak follow up so it gave slightly lower +dmg and +tohit, but then add an extra +special effect?  It'd give the set its own character, IMHO.

Need is a strong word regarding another ranged attack; Earth assault has exactly one ranged single target attack, just like Claws does right now.

 

I certainly wouldn't say no to another ranged attack.

 

Claws Follow Up unchanged + a good old fashioned Power Up (not Power Build Up, so only +special without +dmg) would be a really nice option too.

Earth Assault has stone spears and fissure, so I guess Claws could work with just the 2 ranged attacks it has as well; focus and shockwave.

power up does not have to have +dmg.  can keep follow up

Yes, it does. Maybe you're thinking of Power Boost? Dominators no longer get Power Boost, they get Power Up instead which explicitly has +Dmg. That's where the "Up" comes from.

No, it has two. Stone Spears and Hurl Boulder.

1. Unfocused Swipe (Ranged Swipe)
1. Strike
4. Spin
10. Focus
16. Follow Up
20. Reconstruction (If we're asking for Claws, why not Claws/Regen?)
24. Slash
28. Eviscerate
30. Shockwave

RE your next post: I'm not sure a heal power is on theme for claws. 

 

I wouldn't say no, but I usually skip these kinds of powers on doms. Usually neutered (low heal amounts, long cool down) that it just makes more sense to chew a green candy.
