Our many wonderful League events like the Rikti Invasion, the Zombie event, and our current Mapserve Event really drive home some of the weaknesses in our League system. If a team leader is not on the same map as the League Leader, then it can be chaos. The team lead might disconnect for whatever reason, leaving their team in a mess. Worse, if the team and league leaders ARE on the same map but the team lead is AFK, the league leader cannot promote another leader to that team. This, and similar, situations can lead to a new person in the team being promoted by default without them even knowing it.

Also, if the team lead is not in the same zone, the league leader cannot manipulate their team or recruit others to that team. Again, this can lead to a mess if the team leader can't get into the zone for whatever reason.

The league leader needs to have more control over the teams in the league, especially in terms of promoting new team leads or recruiting new members to incomplete teams. Unlike some of the requests like new powersets or ATs, this will require no new animations and, IMHO, is more important.

League leaders definitely should be able to assign/switch leaders on the constituent teams of their league...

I agree 100%. That said, there is a way to kluge this situations which is sometimes effective. I was faced with this the other day when somebody dropped the lead of a MS league on me and I had to fix several of the teams. If you select the team leader in question, there's a command in the league leader context menu "Move to Team #". After the leader is moved out of the team, another player will be promoted to the lead. If this doesn't work, you can also move the other players to a new team leaving the problematic leader alone on the team.

On its face, this seems like a reasonable request... yet I think it wouldn't have a net benefit, as some League Leaders could end up promoting (lower level) players on a tea, forcing all henchmen/pets to drop, etc. If the league leader needs to scan the roster of a team anyway, and there are fewer than 6 teams in a league, the league leader can do exactly what @Uun suggests.

This seems like more of a problem than it probably is because Mapserver leagues frequently change open-world zones and immediately want to start combat. A similar problem exists on ToT leagues, but those stay within a single zone (for the most part). Aside from zoning into some instanced maps and the leader losing the league star, leagues work just fine as long as the league leader is paying attention and folks make sure they know if they have the star (for a team or league).
