Erratic1 Posted yesterday at 11:41 AM Posted yesterday at 11:41 AM Made a Katana/Psi Brute after the last big patch, taken him to 50, and...its okay but Katana just doesn't provide the feel I am wanting. I went with it because I was wanting to avoid the usual and obvious offensive sets and ones I had recently used on other melee characters--so SS, Claws, and EM are definitely off the table. I am leaning towards SJ, but am open to other suggestions. I don't have a BA or DM character I am deeply invested in. SM could be done. If I confine myself to choosing between BA, DM, SJ, and SM, any thoughts on which would be most enjoyable?
Octogoat Posted yesterday at 11:44 AM Posted yesterday at 11:44 AM I'd try kaizensoze's elec/psi/elec sentinel actually. It's very fun. But if you want melee maybe something like energy melee or electric melee?

Of the list, if it were me, I would go with battle axe (for crunch) or dark melee (for survivability). That being said my 2 favorite psi brutes right now are spines and super strength. Spines is just a walking aura of chaos and destruction. Super strength's weaknesses (endurance and defense) are mostly covered/addressed with psi armor. Of course concept is king. I'd go with what you have a fun concept for and run with it. 1
JediDave Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I'm loving my Psi/Dark/Soul Tank. Touch of Fear, AoI, and MMori means groups are just cowering around you pretty consistently while you smack em around. Soul was taken for theme, but I do like the added -tohit since def is the weakest of Psi's layered protection. 1

Mine's a baby, but I also went Dark/Psi on my brute as they seemed like they would pair well together. Nice to see my instinct seems to make for a decent pairing. 🙂 Global: @Valnara1; Discord Handle: @Valnara#0620 I primarily play on Everlasting, but you may occasionally find me on Indom. 🙂 Notable Characters: Apocolyptica - Demons/Storm MM; Lurking Monster - Human-Form WS; Environmentabot - Bots/Nature MM; Miss Fade - Ill/Traps Controller; Sister Apocalypse - Beast/Dark MM; Dr. Elaina Wrath - Plant/Rad Controller (Join the House of Wrath, and spread the word of science!); Ruff Ruff Boom - AR/Devices Blaster
aethereal Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Savage Melee is perhaps the melee set that is most uniquely best on a Brute (due to the emphasis on the DoTs that are improved by Fury). Savage/Psi seems like a thematically weird pairing, but it probably plays just fine.
Auroxis Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Axe is great at pulling mobs towards you to CC them with Aura of Insanity. Put a Mez HO/D-Sync and you can mez even bosses, and put a heal proc from the sleep set plus an absorb proc from the entomb hold set for sustain.
Erratic1 Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago Thanks everyone for the input. Going to mull it over a bit before leaping in. Will update.
Thraxen Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Mine is MA. It’s a lot of fun. I’m partial to MA too though. DB would be fun. I just made a regen/db tank. I love the db part. Weaken combo does -to hit which is cool. Its been fun playing db and not worrying about too dps like I do on my scrapper.
