PUG life episode 237

Yesterday I started a new toon for the upcoming Justice Super Teamers FRaD run on Excelsior.  (Fire/Rad, Fire Therm, Nuke/Fire, etc…).  I chose an Atomic/Fire Blaster. Snarky’s Machine.  The concept is a Nuclear powered “donation collection robot” Snarky built which wandered off and became increasingly more aggressive in it’s collection strategies…

 

I ran a DFB, a Frostfire team, and a Posi 1/2.  All went great. Although we struggled a bit at the beginning of the last Frostfire lol.  
 

Then I saw an ad for Avoids the Green. I switched to my main.  And, …. Words cannot describe how bad those two runs went.  
 

Ah well, Pugging ain’t easy!

Thank you for confirming it was a good idea not to join that run. Avoid the Green Stuff...middle of the day pug run...yeah that's a no from me dawg. 

 

Not to say it doesn't happen...but the odds were not in the positive column there. The vast majority of the successful runs Ive been on involve at least the people doing the incans to be on voice coms.

 

Again, thanks for bringing me back to being a 10 year old kid in the theater with my dad watching Sharky's Machine. He's been gone for 16 years now so moments like that mean a lot.

I wanna see it remade with Snarky.

 

Instead of him shooting someone and getting demoted, they could have him in the middle of a sting operation that goes bad, declare “that’s it, I’m out” before just walking out.

Which would then lead to his demotion.

I'm glad my main was around when Cosmic Council was doing their thing with incarnate trial badge runs.  There are a lot of badges I got then that there's no way I could get now.

Well, i will share this tidbit on the Avoids the green run. We were on Discord, at least the incan team. The first run failed.  One guy in green.  
 

The second run, i went to great lengths to explain Cosmic Council’s strategy.  The designated Incan would separate, set up, away but with eye on league. At countdown zero see if Green is at incan spot or on league.  If on incan spot then just get the F out.  Otherwise incan.  The very first Green?  The league lead incans the entire league into the green, … which was on them.  
 

After that most of us had urgent real life matters to attend to. No third run…

 

 

Ran a Synapse last night.  The Rad Fire Blaster has a nice AoE chain at low levels. I kept asking “Another kill all?  Really?!?” Every time a mission was posted.  1:15. Good team.  I ate purples and cannonball every spawn i could.

I have 42 lvl 50s, all T3 or T4 Incarnates. I have MoKeyes on 3. For comparison, I have MoMagi on 25.

I might organize one soon if none pops up.  I lean on Justice Super Teamers and old forum friends.  My Really Hard Way badge attempt went well. 1/3 on first night and 1/2 on second. Both nights got the badge at least.  Might have to do the same here.

MoKeyes is a bear, and it doesn't help that I don't really get the whole mechanics of Keyes in the first place.

 

I did get to join Snarky's Machine on a PUG Virgil SF.  2 tankers, a brute, a scrapper, Snarky's blaster and a controller.  Finished in under half an hour and the controller only faceplanted twice.  I threatened to have Snarky's blaster ATO's removed since he didn't follow the blaster code!

 

A good time was had by all.

yeah, i tank on Blasters and do not care much if the team is there or not.  eat a med purple and kill kill kill   

 

Also joined a Silver Mantis that went well, and I led an ouro Sis Psche that was smooth.  

 

Then I joined a PUG ad for Avoids the Green Keyes.  And the League leader, much like last time, Incanned the entire League into the Green on the first incan.  SpiderBro.  (also their global, Excelsior)  they might get every badge for you, but I will not be joining their stuff again.  yeah, kind of pissed.

 

on the bright side today i got MoKhan (3 tries, i died in final fight first run, someone died in unkillable Reichs on 2nd, and the third time we squeaked thru!) AND I got Dreamkiller! I am not sure I have that badge on any toon, i think i am close on one or two, but picked it up on my main!
