vidfinnx Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Can this not get detoggled in pvp, i mean the set is already average at best in pvp and the fact that its main mechanic with how the set operates because it has a to hit debuff attached to it is downright retarded. Without that constant regen you will already have a hard time versus all these non suppressed ranged bouncing all over blowing your ass away. It would be nice to see more melee defensive sets be viable than just like 3-4. Willpower should be one of them, spending half your time retoggling in a fight is stupid, especially when it has long animation.
vidfinnx Posted July 11, 2019 Author Posted July 11, 2019 yeah thats real constructive, you must be a ranged player
HelenCarnate Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Why does it detoggle? And no I play almost exclusively melee.
Hopeling Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 It detoggles because it gives a -tohit debuff to nearby enemies, and all other-affecting toggles turn off when you get mezzed.
vidfinnx Posted July 11, 2019 Author Posted July 11, 2019 its only in PVP that it detoggles, Yeah and the fact that gives ALOT of regen which is the main mechanic of willpower, it basically cripples the whole entire set detoggling happens every 10 seconds by the time you turn this power back on and finish the animation since nobody resists mez or stuns in pvp anymore. Im hoping something can be done because i would really love to use this powerset in pvp
HelenCarnate Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Incorrect. This happens in pve as well if you get stunned or held. So because of the fact that toggles that have an effect on others detoggle when you get held or stunned ect the easiest way to make it stop doing that would be to remove the -to hit. Does that seem acceptable?
vidfinnx Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 In PVE you have resistance to it, that is working as intended if it gets shut off there, the problem in PVP is there is no more resistance so it's automatically off, nobody can resist a hold or Mez Everyone is subject to it even if it's 1 second every 15 seconds Now if you could actually resist that would be another thing, so yes technically it happens in pve still but not in sense the way it does in PVP
HelenCarnate Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 And? Would you be willing to give up the -to hit feature just so you can enjoy the set in PvP? Do you think others are willing to give that up as well if you are?
vidfinnx Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 God yes I would, the -tohit is basically nothing and it's only in melee range, I wouldn't even slot for it, it's worthless with this set as far as PvP is concerned because it's not a defensive primary set anyway I've SR or EA etc
malonkey1 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Okay, how about, hypothetically, the -ToHit was suppressed in PvP, but left in for PvE? Then Willpower's biggest power would remain useful in PvP without hosing it for PvE.
vidfinnx Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 As long as I can keep my Regen toggle up IDC what happens to the to hit component as I'm not relying on the anyway as far as PvP is concerned
HelenCarnate Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 It all depends on how they set it up way back with I13. I know they can modify how powers work but not sure they can remove things on one side and not the other. Sure they could change the to hit to 0 but it would from a programming standpoint still have an effect on others. That effect would be a 0% debuff but the game would likely still detoggle you. Can they make it so that the to hit debuff is simply removed entirely in pvp? Maybe. Odds of that happening. Slim to none.
vidfinnx Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 yeah i dont have much hope for changes like this :( its sad how bad some sets are because of crap like this, pour hours into a character to find out HEY it eats crap in pvp
malonkey1 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 So I've actually looked at the power definitions. Here's the part of the power definition that adds in the -ToHit: AttribMod { Name "DeBuff_ToHit" Table "Melee_DeBuff_ToHit" Aspect kCur Attrib kToHit Target kTarget Scale 0.5 Type kMagnitude AllowStrength kTrue AllowResistance kTrue Delay 0 Duration 1 Magnitude 1 Period 0 Chance 1 NearGround kFalse CancelOnMiss kFalse StackType kReplace ContinuingFX GenericContinuing/DeBuffToHitContinuing.fx } To disable this in PVP, we only need to add one line right before the closing bracket. Requires isPVPMap? ! This adds a condition that suppresses the -ToHit effect while in PVP maps, so it could be changed to not detoggle anymore in PVP if the devs felt that would be worth the change. I can't say whether it's a good idea, but I do know for a fact that it is possible.
Llewellyn Blackwell Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Sorry no and I use WP on several toons. But frankly on non tanks I never take Rise to the challenge I see its taunt aura as a liability so great its not worth having. Considering my character Invisible falcon the first WP I made that didnt take RTTC was frequently called powerful by players on far more meta optimal builds I assure you RTTC is not where the power comes from on your build. And its PVP you know the purely after thought non major aspect of the game that should not eat up another moment of dev energy. Its there for amusement at best, not a major aspect of the game nor should it be, And if you are a melee in PVP for the love of Valmaz be a stealthy melee. Never let a sniper see you coming!
RCU7115 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 No, leave my WP set alone. PvP has been broken for a long time and if you plan on PvPing then look up one of the few powers that actually work in PvP.
