Scarlet Shocker Posted Tuesday at 05:05 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:05 PM I ran a Beast/Thermal (called Hot Dogs) to 50 and I really enjoyed that. Sadly it's on Runion so I tend not to go there any more, mostly due to low pop issues. I prefer to team.  So I'm thinking of rolling a new Beast MM, but I want to try something different than Thermal for obvious reasons.  There's a few secondaries that I don't want to play - FF is one since I recently ran a Bots/FF to 50 and I don't want to play Traps since that feels to static. I'm not keen to play another Poison toon since I've got many of them. Poison is a great set but I want to try something else.  Beasts seems to be largely a melee (or close quarters combat) set and the main pets can be vulnerable in my experience, so I want to both protect them and debuff the enemies. I like Storm a lot but I'm currently levelling a Zombie/Storm so I probably won't play another right now.  So... I'm keen to get your input. The real question of course is why you'd choose a set and then when at A/PPP level what compliments the build?   I learned early on that chemistry is just like cooking. From there I worked out that a mixture of Barium, Carbon Monoxide and Nitrogen between two slices of bread gives you a delicious BaCON sandwich Â
Psyonico Posted Tuesday at 05:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:38 PM I've got a beast/marine that feels pretty good, he's only high 20s/low 30s, so I don't know his he'll be in end game. 1 What this team needs is more Defenders
Scarlet Shocker Posted Tuesday at 05:42 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 05:42 PM I've very limited experience of Marine. I don't hate it but it doesn't seem to "fit" in the powers pantheon. I guess it does have that animal thing going on though.   I learned early on that chemistry is just like cooking. Riverdusk Posted Tuesday at 05:46 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:46 PM Marine should still be good. I have a beast/cold that works very well.  Being an all melee set I find an aoe immobilize very useful so they don't have to chase things all over the place. So, I'd take an epic that has one personally.  /time is also always a good choice I find, with mace mastery, for power boost.
Six-Six Posted Tuesday at 06:33 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:33 PM I have a Beast/Dark that is quite stronk and fun. Also a Beast/Storm that is a far second. I've also played /elec and /kin which can hold their own, but it might be hard to wrap a concept around it with Beast/. I honestly have never been attracted to /Trick Arrow, but it might have a nice Hunter thematic to it. I haven't played /Marine yet, but I've heard good things about it. I already have a Necro/Marine in the pipeline waiting for its turn to be played. Â
Xandyr Posted Tuesday at 07:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:38 PM I second going with Time or Cold. I have each, and they're both pretty potent. You'll have to take Rebirth (or at least I felt like I had to) on the /Cold. Plus, teams always seems to love /Cold.  Time was my first pairing with Beasts, and it was fun. You'll be up in melee also to take advantage of your debuffs, and to help heal them.  And an Immob power would be beneficial, but not absolutely mandatory.   Another thing, the /Cold could be the cousin/brother/sister to your Beast/Thermal 😆 What you wanted to know about Bio, but never asked - Tanker - Homecoming (homecomingservers.com) Â
Xandyr Posted Tuesday at 07:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:39 PM Oh, and Nature would be pretty good as well. Your Beasts would have a good mix of defense and resists. Plus absorb, heals, and damage. What you wanted to know about Bio, but never asked - Tanker - Homecoming (homecomingservers.com) Â

Scarlet Shocker Posted Tuesday at 10:57 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 10:57 PM I've made a new toon; Foxy Frost - Beast/Cold. I will probably go LEviathan as a PPP - it's got some good defences and a nice AoE immob too.     I learned early on that chemistry is just like cooking.
