Crysis
So my search-fu is failing me. Can't find anything on here, on the Titan forums, on Reddit OR on the old COH archived forums. Surely someone has tried to play this set before? It seems to me with the KB-to-KD IO's out now it's gotta be pretty decent. I love my stormies, so I know how to play to that powerset, but not sure there's any synergy with Demon's at all. Anyone got a build they can share? I've seen the whips-only one but that isn't what I'm looking for. TIA!
Frosticus
If you are familiar with storm then you prob don't need a build as the pet side is pretty straight forward. The synergy is that demons do fairly significant -res, which makes your storm powers more potent. The other synergy is that demons do ok/decent aoe damage, but it is all cones and damage aura, so they benefit most from packed mobs. So getting them tight with hurricane is effective. Aside from that storm offers a bit of +res and a lot of active mitigation and -tohit so that is often enough to keep them going while the ember demon patches them up. o2 boost for spot heals. plainguy
Here is a build from petless mastermind thread. Just remove the attack powers and add the pets.. You want to get range defense cap via set bonuses and midway with Melee & AOE. You will use Hurricane -to Hit debuff to get you the rest of the way for Melee and AOE. The next thing you will need to work on getting Recharge up as much as you can to get up at least 2 steady streams of Lightening Storms up. Between Lightening Storm and your pets you will clearing out the mobs. Though Hurricane is NOT a Team Friendly Power. If you were on a team with me and you wanted to herd mobs into a corner and hold them there I would TOTALLY understand and let you do it. But MANY other players just want to run in and steamroll, AV fights. Bank Jobs with AVs or EB, Bad pulls. Hurricane is a good protector for those with a clue. But again MANY players don't. Crysis
Thanks, I kept up with this in the whip-only Demon MM thread. There’s also been some chatter over on Reddit about petless MM builds, but most seem to recommend going with /Kin vs. /Storm. For Hurricane, I assumed I would mainly be using that solo, and primarily when leveling. At higher levels, nothing outside of AV’s lives long enough to stand up to team steamroller damage output. I’d guess it may come in handy for trials (BAF doors, denial of passage chokepoints, etc) but would become more and more situational as I level up. Maybe even possible to respec out of it? I’ve played Storm defenders plenty, and have a lower level Plant/Storm Dominator right now as well, but never really thought of it for MM play. Apparently, given how few threads I found even on the old boards (I went back 75+ pages of archives looking for some DS/Storm builds) it was never a popular combo. I do like challenges however!
