Christopher Robin Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 More Caemgen artz or more pencil drawings that I used the softbrushing technique on? I'm guessing you meant the latter from your wording and yes I have several examples of each. The best softbrushed pieces IMHO aren't even CoH related but my Star Wars the Clone Wars series. Like this one of Asajj Ventress. 7 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? You really should've clicked here before 6pm on Sunday the 18th!
Christopher Robin Posted October 12, 2019 Author Posted October 12, 2019 (edited) Here's another before and after softbrushing, this time General Aayla Secura. Usually eyes are what I draw first but, as you can tell from the WIP stage above, they were the very last thing to go in. I couldn't decide what way I wanted her looking. In the end I went with "RIGHT AT YOU." She almost looks a bit haughty in the final image which fits well I guess since she was so aloof in the cartoon. DJ1 Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 Wicked! Do you look at anything when you draw dragons?
Christopher Robin Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) For Dragons no, they are kind of my default. If I put pencil (or in this case a pen) to paper with no plan or intent, Dragons happen. With other things it depends, I certainly don't shy away from using reference material but sometimes when you are drawing make believe stuff there is no good pic of what you are trying to draw until you make it up. DJ1 Posted October 13, 2019 Posted October 13, 2019 lol dragons happen. Should be a bumpersticker or somethin. 2
Christopher Robin Posted October 13, 2019 Author Posted October 13, 2019 (edited) Indeed! If that's not on a bumper sticker already it totally needs to be. Sometimes life goes your way, other times... Dragons happen! You know what I stand corrected, MOST of the time I do not use ref for Dragons but there was one time I did, it wasn't a photo manipulation or someone else's art but of all things a soap carving that I thought looked cool. This is what came of that drawing session. Edited October 13, 2019 by Christopher Robin 8 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? Christopher Robin Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 (edited) ...and in color. @Healix Thanks! @DJ1 I thought you'd seen my other gallery before? That pic has been there for years, did you not notice it somehow? Edited October 14, 2019 by Christopher Robin 7 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? Christopher Robin Posted October 15, 2019 Author Posted October 15, 2019 Some more inked dragon doodles drawn earlier. I was thinking about doing a Tiamat and so was quickly scribbling out the different chromatic heads. The Red and Blue were about 10 minutes each and I just started the Green head. The reason they are so quick is they are pretty tiny (scanned in a high resolution though) sitting in the corner of a page and the ones above are full page designs. 9 Like the Costume Creator? Christopher Robin Posted October 16, 2019 Author Posted October 16, 2019 That was the most awkward episode of Maury let me tell ya. When it comes to all of Dragon kind.... CR... CatastrophicMews Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Hey, these are awesome! I think I remember seeing a lot of your stuff back in the old days on DeviantArt (during CoX live) - so cool to see you're still at it producing quality stuff! 4 1

Welcome to my thread, thank you and glad you like what you see. Thanks! Well the Inktober stuff is a bunch of scribbly silliness done for fun but it is getting me to draw more often and I do have some older stuff I am working to finish up and some new stuff coming soon. Christopher Robin Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) This was for the Inktober subject "Frail" The idea being when you take time to teach a game you have mastered long ago to someone new. The CC being completely unfettered steals some of the punch but hopefully it still reads okay in this MMO as opposed to the ilk it originated with. Works fine on my end, but I'm going to go ahead and move it to my own hosting anyways (I think I got that link from you, tbh). 1
Christopher Robin Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) Oh, you mean you didn't change anything on your end and you could still see it fine? What was the link? Was it a sta.sh? Imgshack? Some other problematic site? (entirely possible, I had to learn the hard way what sites work with our new forums and which have... "quirks") Edited October 17, 2019 by Christopher Robin 1 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? You really should've clicked here before 6pm on Sunday the 18th!

Long incomprehensible string, and not a site I recognized as one I've ever used. Edited October 17, 2019 by ZemyaSoldat
Christopher Robin Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 No worries. As soon as you host it yourself I will change that update above, right now it still points to your thread it just goes to the first post rather than the one with all the Chibi's. That link may have been a remnant, I was using photo"suckit" (it's "bucket" actually but they may as well have a more accurate descriptor) before they put up a paywall and locked everyone out of their pics. It had long strands of text. Now I use ImgBox and they are super short and easy to work with. 3 Like the Costume Creator? Enjoy a challenge? Love to WIN? Also that happens sometimes when the text above yours is colored it can affect all text in the response. It doesn't happen all the time but it can just like the @DJ1 above is orange even though it's white by default. Because of the "thanks" above it being orange though it gets changed orange too. Deleting the text and starting over will usually clear the effect, not sure why anyone would want to do that though. Edited October 17, 2019 by Christopher Robin 2 3 Like the Costume Creator? Christopher Robin Posted October 17, 2019 Author Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) More softbrushed StarWars! Here is Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano. To this day this continues to be the most favorited thing I have ever done for some reason. She must have a huge fan base or something (moreso than just being a SW character).
