Saeletra Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I'm starting to close in on 50, so I thought working up a final build should be something I should do. I'm looking for help with IO Sets since I'm not to familiar with them. I use my plant pet as my main damage source as well as -def, and my dark pet for -to hit and low level basic heals. If I don't have to twilight's grasp I can put that end to something else. For defense I use hover, which leads to fly for my travel power, and I use hasten to give me my Creepy Creeper Vines back quicker. I have two main questions, What sets would compliment a Plant/Dark/Soul Mastery controller? Is it possible to get Creepy Creeper Vines on a near permanent basis? If somebody has a build I could reference, that would be wonderful! Thank you, in advance! Midnight Thorn, Overlord of Ivory Tower. (Everlasting)
Saeletra Posted August 15, 2019 Author Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) Thanks for the advice! I don't find Mids intuitive. Guess it's just sit down and deal with it for a while! Edited August 15, 2019 by Mistyr Midnight Thorn, Overlord of Ivory Tower. (Everlasting)
subbacultchas Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Hey, I got a mention! Bear in mind I'm revamping this build over the weekend, probably only three powers for a bit of proc and Cloud Senses in fluffy. But the build pretty much still stands.

In the build above I went for +recharge and defense capping, though there are others you can use. With Creepers you will have them perma with global recharge and only a little recharge in the power. I'll be reslotting mine for damage, a little recharge and acc, and two procs for more damage. I'll repost the build after changes.
Saeletra Posted August 15, 2019 Author Posted August 15, 2019 You guys are amazing! I appreciate the work done and suggestions, I can't wait to test them out! Midnight Thorn, Overlord of Ivory Tower. (Everlasting)
subbacultchas Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Not a thing, it's a good combo and nice to see others play it. If you do take the Seer, I have heard it makes an excellent mule for the Def and Res IOs in pet sets, since they put an aura on you. I don't have space or I'd try it.
Saeletra Posted October 20, 2019 Author Posted October 20, 2019 It's been a few months since I first asked for some help! Since then, I've been talking to a lot of people and discussing things with Widow Banetouch, who was kind enough to throw everything we spoke about into Midds, and correct many assumptions I had. We were able to get my beloved hasten and creepers while adding in a ton of defense and survialfulness (Please, someone get this!). I call it Creeping Darkness. Cuz.. Creppervines are important and Darkness. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Mercurias Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 This is an extremely expensive Plants/Dark/Soul build that has Perma-Hasten as well as softcapped defenses with Fade (also Perma) and extremely high recovery via Soul Absorption (Also also perma). In order to get these numbers, I did need to the Alpha slot for T4 Core Spiritual, but the other Incarnate slots don't matter so much. If you're taking Destiny suggestions, however, I would recommend Clarion for the Mez protection. Also Sprint is slotted with a Celerity +Stealth IO, so when you toggle it then you'll be fully invisible. Mercurias Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) Please excuse the double-post, but here's a Plant/Dark/Energy Controller for comparison. I would personally prefer it, because by using Power Boost before Fade you can softcap your defenses with significantly less investment in set bonuses, allowing you to add more damage to the build. Your lowest baseline positional defense is AoE at 25.8%. Normally with this build, Fade would only boost that by 13.5%, to a total of 39% (which is below the 45% softcap). Using power Boost, however, changes Fade's buff to a global 25% global defense, which brings your baseline 25.8% AoE Defense and brings it up to over 50% (which is honestly a bit too much). A much more adept person could probably take this and make it a good deal beefier, but I like it for the amount of effort I put into it for a side-by-side comparison. I'd 2nd Energy Epic for it's Powerboost being the way to go. It's gives a massive boost the Defense in Fade, which means it benefits you're entire team, and even for soloing that means pets, including Lore Incarnate. You should be able to easily fill in missing Endurance needs with procs, Endurance buff from Alpha, and if needed Destiny Ageless.
