Personally, I also don't see Disney/Marvel or WB/DC going all crazy over a long dead MMO no more than Procter and Gamble going crazy about people creating characters named after one of their trademarked feminine products.

There's more companies and authors out there than Disney and WB.  Even if they're too big to care, a lot of companies aren't.

  2. We don't currently have any policy against characters, Architect Entertainment missions, supergroup bases, etc. that copy or make homage to other people's trademarks or intellectual property.  Reports of infringement will be noted, but no action will be taken*.

However, that does not mean HC will never have any such policy, especially if Homecoming Team finds itself in a situation where it is required to comply with a rights-holder's cease-and-desist or DMCA takedown notice.

(In short: it is fine now, but don't assume it will always be fine).

    * If you yourself are an author, artist or other intellectual property holder and a HC player's content is infringing on that, please file a ticket with proof that you're the rights-holder, and we'll talk.

  3. The UI scales more smoothly and consistently now, including the menu, chat bubbles and window text which were previously not scaled with the rest of the UI.

"Automatic UI Scale" in User Interface links the base UI scale to your operating system scaling settings and the dimensions of the game window.  Turn this off if you want to tweak the overall scale.

You can scale individual windows with the /windowscale windowname N command, or the entire UI at one shot with the /uiscale N command, where N is the scale you want (N = 1 corresponds to 100%, N = 1.1 is 110%, and so on).

If you want something closer to the previous UI scaling sizes, turn down the UI scale, then turn up the window scale to compensate.

250 wanting to raid , guess what they all can we just get 5 hive/abyss instances not one of them would be left out.

Yes those scary organized Grifers ,  guess what having zone cap actually helps with that. If they did get together and left the Hive and Abyss with multi bloom mess to grief, having zone caps solves that by letting a raid max out that instance then switching when another instance opens . So thank you@QuiJon for showing a potential issue and proving that fixing the zone caps was a good thing and not having a zone cap is bad.   I'm glad you come to see your self entitled exploiter greed was clouding your vision on what was right and better for the health and longevity of the game.

It's not half assing restoring things to how they were suppose to be. Then looking at it and what could be done if there is an issue. It a responsible way to handle it.

Take it down like three notches.  You can disagree with QuiJon without insinuating that he's trying to exploit or be greedy.

What if a bunch of them get together to just prevent a league from being able to fully form?  Granted we could just move to Hive 2 if that happens, but I foresee this being a problem.

We'll cross that bridge when it comes to it.  So far, the worst griefing problems we've had have been solved by just forcibly removing the offenders from the zone.

Grifers in the uncapped raids were a pain int he butt and annoying, but nothing that putting someone on ignore couldn't really help. However now what if all those griefers get together every day and start a raid in both zones specifically to fail it just to leave Hami in a screwed up state of spawned mitos just to prevent the raids on the server for the night until a reset? This actually IMO gives griefers more power to screw with people.

If that happens, report it and GMs can reset the maps (and hand out punishments).

At this point, why bother? Those who championing the click power are tone deaf to changing it including a GM.

Homecoming Team follows the principle of the "cottage rule" that Cryptic/Paragon established during live service.  The crux of the principle is that the powers devs will need a very good reason to fundamentally change the primary way a power works (as opposed to numbers tweaks or secondary effects) because players who have chosen the power expect it to operate consistently in the future.  I don't think "I personally don't like active mitigation abilities" crosses that threshold.

Has there been any official Dev post concerning this topic?

In summary: it wasn't supposed to be exposed to players in the first place, so it's going to go away eventually, but the devs understand why players want to use it, so when it's disabled, it will likely come with changes to allow inter-base teleports and improvements to existing travel powers (subject to feasibility and ease of implementation concerns).

  9. The minimum and recommended specs for Going Rogue are still applicable to Homecoming.  Pretty much any computer you buy now that has any kind of discrete video card will meet those requirements comfortably, and even a lot of integrated graphics chips will do admirably well with it.

If you're interested in giving building your own desktop a shot, the "Entry Level AMD Gaming Build" on PCPartsPicker for approx. US$520 is a good place to start for a computer that would play CoH well without going overboard on the budget.

I'm having trouble logging in as well - my issue is slightly different though.

Somehow my saved address I use to log in got wiped.  OK, so I go to type it in again, but when I type the @ sign, I get a beep and no @ sign types.  Same for the period.

How am I gonna type an email address without an @ sign or a period?!

I've restarted, reverified the game's files, tried several different CoH forks (presented when you start tequila), and I get the same thing every time.  I also tried putting my email address on the system Clipboard, then pasting it in.  I got a truncated email address with no symbols in it.  Just the letters.

Any ideas on how to fix this?  I'm out of them.

    thanks all

You can't log in with your email account.  You log in with your game account (the one shown in https://forums.homecomingservers.com/gameaccount/).

  11. There isn't much else to be said since Leandro's laid out the decision, the reasoning for the decision, and what's going to happen from here.  The feedback's been taken into account and the devs have reached a consensus about what to do with it.

However, people still want to voice their agreement or displeasure with the situation, so I'm not going to close the thread; people can continue to comment about the feature, while keeping in mind the fact that the decision about disabling it has already been made.
